I'm thinking about trying a liquid extraction of wisteria flowers. I've found some recipes for making an essential oil by drying the flowers first then soaking in olive oil. I imagine I could do the same thing using PG or VG to make a flavor concentrate for vape liquid.
If I dried the flowers first it seems like I could use the same methods as for tobacco extraction.
I'm wondering if I could get a better flavor by using the fresh flowers, or maybe using grain alcohol, mixing, then evaporating the alcohol?
What are advantages or disadvantages of heat extraction?
Anyone out there have any experience with floral extraction? Or offer some guidance about the options and your thoughts on how to get the best results?
I've really enjoyed some floral flavors, like hibiscus, and think the spicyness of wisteria might be interesting, by itself or for mixing. I've learned to never underestimate the knowledge base available here
