I forgot to post this the day I did this but I sub ohm down to .9 - .2 ohms now, when I was using that range, I noticed how hot the vapor was and strong compared to my normal .5-.7 ohm builds

after an hour or two (forgot now) I noticed it wasn't hot anymore, do you think im just used to it or the coils died already (they were pretty black with light colored ejuices, I don't use dark) ?

this still happens using fully charged batteries and I make new coils every few days, I always seem to break them getting the cotton out :(

thanks

If you are breaking your coil when you take the cotton out it sounds like you are using a high gauge compared to low gauge sub ohm builds. What gauge are you using and are you building your coil with contact wraps or spaced wraps? If you can post a picture the members here would be able to help you out a bit more.

When you pulse a new coil you need to make sure you are working all the hot spots out, that can lead to a harsh vape. Also the wrong amount of cotton can mess up the vape.

hi, I switch between my infinite copper stingray clone and diablo by el diablo all copper mod, both are doing the same thing, this is on my troll rda by wotofo

I use efest 35amp 2500 mah batteries, waiting for my sony vtc4's

not sure about it shorting though, I break the coils because im too rough sometimes :\
damn stereoids.. jk

so not sure whats going on, but I remade the coils the other day and I was thinking it wasn't hot like the first day I decided to sub ohm to .2 ohms, ever since that first day, it seems cold - luke warm vape

dual coils - 6 wraps using 26 gauge kanthal a1

and both coils fire up fast red so, I always test after making them on the mod then put it back on the ohm reader to wick it with cotton

I don't really see how you get .2 ohms six wraps with 26ga per coil ?
If your building below .5 dual coils and it's luke warm you might need to tear down those mech's and do some serious maintenance, can you check the volt level on your battery's ? .....

I always have my batteries charged to 4.2 volts prior to use, I do get .2 ohms using that wire setup too so I dunno, kinda weird if its both mods having the same issue, and the screws are tight too because once I finish building my coils and wicks, I start dripping and vaping and it isn't as hot as it was that first day

oh I'm also getting the same amount of vapor that I did too so the only thing I noticed different is the warm vape itself, taste has slightly dropped too

same cotton etc

ok so apparently dr crimmy's milkshake and overdose ejuices make the vape cold, I decided to vape the res of my epicus nebula the general ejuice just now and its a warm vape using .30 ohms hmm weird

its not as hot as the first day but its a warmer vape then the dr crimmys, oh and the convicted vapes parole and convict ejuices strange

oh nevermind, it got colder after a few hits LOL so I dunno

heres my build - kinda messed this one up where it goes to the positive posts but still heats up evenly and quickly (gets red less than 1 second!)

I had a issue of my coils dieing to quickly myself. You might be suprised at what I figured out. It was the QUALITY of the kanthal wire I was using. When I switched to a better QUALITY of kanthal, same gauge my coils started lasting a unbelievably long time. I do all the builds for myself and my husband and he noticed right away and mentioned he couldn't believe how long the coils were lasting and how much cleaner they were. Which I noticed as well. My coils used to be covered in gunk now with the better kanthal, (same juice) they remain clean. I never imagined the kanthal would have made that much difference and never paid much attention to the manufacturer. Until I stumbled across a better grade of kanathal. It's made a HUGE difference in my builds. Since then I've been ordering from a company called kanthal co. the price is around 6 dollars for 100 feet which was a littleore than I was paying but it's made such a difference for my builds. I'm not sure if the kanathal itself is your problem as well but it was my problem. You might consider trying a different manufacturer and see if it resolves your issues. It resolved mine. It wouldn't hurt to give it a try. I was completely suprised on what a difference it made for my husband and i. My my coils are cleaner and last much much longer! It's so nice to only have to change the cotton and not have to constantly have to be rebuilding!! It solved my problem completely. I really hope this helps. Best wishes.

when your coils get to a point of loosing heat flavor, are they starting to become "carbonized"? Gunked up with the crusty black stuff? The black stuff acts as an insulator for heat... when I notice my vape declining in warmth and flavor, I pull the cap and see all that gunk on the coil... I pull the wick do a dry burn brush off the ash rewick and life is good again :)

yeah let me re-explain
I am using the same spool of kanthal, the very first time that I went down to .2 ohms it was a really hot vape I almost choked not being used to it, few hours later it cooled down everytime I took a hit. I have used that whole 3 ft spool and everytime I made coils they weren't hot anymore like that first time, so I was wondering if im just used to it now or im doing something wrong, I always use fully charged batteries prior to using new coils
thanks
