Can ecigs pass airport security?

I'm in Japan and I'm heading to Tokyo soon, I don't know how similar or different Japanese airport security is but I want to bring my stuff with me. I don't care if it's carry on or luggage I just want it wit me when I'm at Tokyo. Help?

I've never tried flying with mine outside of the U.S. but I've never had any questions about mine through security. Granted I don't ever bring it out to use but you should be fine. To be safe I would call the airport security and check with them.

I was recently traveling alot and I used a joeytech eCom device and the airport security never had any issues with that in australia japan netherlands germany etc.

And checking with the airport security is a fine thing...but every country will treat them in an other way...unfortunately

But as mentioned before I think if you would cary a Kayfun with you they could take it from you ...
But I spoke with some other vapors from Germany who travel even more and they all carry around their "big" devices and never seem to have anby problems with security and customs ...
BUT look up if you are allowed to carry liquid with nicotine in it into other countries since for example Turkey was one of them I think where nicotine in eLiquids is forbidden.

I've traveled with various eGos, Innokin VV V3s, my Firebox squonker, an eVic... no problem. I have had an airport rent-a-cop ask me what the squonker was, mainly because I had forgotten to take out the juice bottle inside, but that's it.

One thing I would NEVER consider flying with is my Innokin Cool Fire 2, for obvious reasons

EDIT: oh yes, I forgot: to bring nic juice in countries where it's not allowed, I transfer it in unmarked bottles and stick fake labels on 'em with "0 mg nicotine" clearly indicated. I've yet to be asked what was in the bottles though, but... better safe than sorry.

EDIT 2: don't bring expensive stuff to/from the US: if your vaping kit attracts a TSA goon (sorry, "agent"), they'll steal it from you (sorry, "confiscate it for safety reasons").

I live in the US and work in Africa and have never had anything confiscated and I have traveled with Provaris, ZNA's, mech mods, and authentic RBA's and have never had a problem.

I've flown UK-USA and UK-Holland-Panama with eGos, Protanks and a mech in my carry-on, with absolutely no problems.

E-cigs are banned from import into Panama (maybe only import for sale; I can't read the law in Spanish and the media reports are vague.) Even so I had no problems.

I recently read someone talking about bringing a self-addressed envelope with you to the airport with a pre-paid label on it, just in case you have issues at security you can mail your stuff rather than having it taken from you. Seems like a decent fail safe.

Do you put your juices in checked luggage or carry on? They're still checking for fluids on carry on, right? Have a trip to Miami soon and haven't traveled with my vape kit yet.

I would place it in checked luggage. They still check fluids, and if you have multiple flavors, that might be an issue with the TSA.

Most flights, just take your flavors and put them in a baggie, put these in with your other liquids and they will pass by screening very easily. The battery pack, just put in with your carryon and let it be scanned. Esigs and mods look like batteries in an exray machine and TSA are used to seeing them now.

I am a bit different as I can not go through an TSA without a patdown (medical prosthetics) everything I have is hand searched as I also carry medical supplies. I do have to be able to explain everything I am carrying with me. If you make your own juice it might be an issue, but if you store bought your juice, just keep it in their bottle.

I took 2 Egos and 3 10ML bottles on my carry on and they never said a word about it. At this point, the are probably used to it. That was at Charlotte and Nashville Airports. Now, you may get flack if you use one of those obnoxious footlong mods.

Different countries can have different rules, so it's always best to ask before you try.
Back a few years TSA didn't know what to do about e-cigs, so they could hold you up for hours. There was even a thread here on ecf about a guy trying to get home from a vape meet. Now they don't even bother to look, they know what they are. I flew yesterday with 4 different setups in my carry on, and they went through screening like there was nothing in there but underwear & socks.

Not really vaping-specific, but TSA agents are renowned for that sort of thing: they see something they like, make up some reason for which you can't fly with it, confiscate it, tell you you can file a claim to get it back, and when you do, they send you a letter telling you they're mysteriously unable to locate the item. It hasn't happened to me, but it's happened to a friend, who's lost a very nice pool cue that way.

Not saying all TSA agents are bad - far from it - but the fact remains that TSA agents are among the least qualified, least honest and least respected federal workers, for a variety of very valid reasons. They've caused endless misery to air travelers ever since the agency's inception, and I for one would be glad to see them go.

The first time I went through security, outgoing UK, I was asked to show them my K100 because of the unusual outline. The guy on the X-ray was fairly sure what it was but just wanted it checked. That's the only time anyone has so much as raised an eyebrow.

I'm posting this from the departure lounge at Oulu airport: i just got grilled something fierce over the 6 bottles of juice, 2 bottles of concentrate, and 2 more pre-filled bottles of juice for my BF, that I had in my carry-on. It lasted a good 15 minutes. Hot damn, I thought the guy was gonna take them away from me. He was especially concerned by the Health Potion concentrate, that happens to be bright red. Red = explosive in these guys' mind in suppose.

He did take away a very nice bottle of Terva schnapps that I had forgotten to transfer to my checked-in luggage

I'm so mad right now: this whole liquid explosive bullcrap has been debunked as impossible a long time ago by specialists, yet airports around the world continue to perpetuate this myth entirely fabricated by the DHS, and piss off travelers who don't even set foot in the US. I wish stupid US rules didn't apply to internal Euro flights...

Must be due to the Oulu airport being small, and vaporizers and accessories being uncommon. I've flown from Vasa a number of times since I've been vaping (my parents and brother live there) and I've never had any problems. A reaction ones: that smells fantastic!" (I had a bit of a leakage in my baggie) I've flown plenty in continental Europe and the UK and have never had as much as a raised eyebrow. Once, when flying from Skavsta airport (small one) in Stockholm I was interviewed quite extensively about my Innokin SVD, but got to take it with me without too much trouble really. No idea (yet) if there would be trouble travelling outside Europe.

Just remember to pack the e-liquid properly according to the guidelines for carrying liquids. Probably better to have them in the carry on luggage as you can then answer any questions that might occur. As for mods, I've always taken them out of my bag and letting them go through the x-ray together with my mobile, laptop etc. Best not to appear as if you're trying to hide something.
