Can I be a Canadian by proximity?

Here in Minnesota, we accept Canadian currency. The climate is the same. I've camped in Quetico. And MN is a really liberal state. Plus I live North of Toronto.

Is it okay if I hang in this section?

My hubby is from Manitoba... born and raised. Tonight, he and the kid are playing Canadaopoly and at dinner the little chickadee is telling me how she is beating daddy and that "she is the goose and he is the beaver". Mommy LOL.
