Yes I know more expensive, but it does seem the simplest approach, if one has never done DIY before.

Excellent point! Yes, you can, and that will work just fine ... it's not quite as economical as the cutting-with-VG method (pharmaceutical grade PG and VG are dirt cheap compared to pre-mixed juice), but that will definitely preserve the full flavor. Great suggestion!

Can't one buy 0 mg. juice and mix it with the same 24 mg juice to reduce the nic level without changing flavor?

It is Absolutely fine to mix with lower mg versions of the eliquid, that works well. I had meant cutting with plain vg tends to mess up the flavor unless it is a pretty small cut.

You find this to be true even with flavor-boosted juice? I'm not doubting you, but my experience cutting Boba's Bounty 24mg/ml with 50% VG to 12mg/ml has been quite satisfactory, flavor-wise. Since all my Boba's is cut at the moment, I don't have any "full strength" 12mg/ml to compare to. I spoke to a nice lady at Alien Vision when I first requested a maximum flavor boost (I made no secret of what I was intending to do), and she explained that there is so much flavoring in Boba's that they have to leave out a significant amount of VG to achieve a boost ... so I guess I'm basically adding the VG they leave out, back in, plus a bit.

Maybe it's just the bold nature of Boba's Bounty that lets me get away with it? I'd guess that a more subtle flavor might suffer more from dilution ...

Of course, taste is subjective. Juices differ and so do personal palates; what works fine for me may not work at all for someone else. As they say, YMMV.

A high flavor that's been boosted by the vendor might be fine, but not most eliquids. My own mixes tend to be pretty firm flavor wise, but when I've experimented by cutting even 25% there was a marked drop, and some of my more popular blends become really bland.

It absolutely is subjective, no real right or wrong, just that a 50% cut (if done with plain VG) is a biggie.

Useful items, liquid menthol concentrate and tobacco absolute diluted (available from Perfumers Apprentice - Menthol Liquid ** and Perfumers Apprentice - Tobacco Absolute (2. Diluted), plus other places) are very handy if you need to perk up either the menthol or tobacco tone on an eliquid. Use these sparingly, just a few drops at a time per 10ml, added to an eliquid, then shake and taste.
