Can I do VV (1 battery boosted) with any of these?

Sorry I'm such an idiot! Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction (the more handholding the better!).

I'd like to build a vv mod that uses only one battery. Battery life isn't real important, so I'd prefer to use an 18350 or maybe 18490/18500. Digging through my chip stash, here's what I have:

(1) PTR08060WVD
(1) PTN04050CAH
(1) PTN04050CAZ
(5) UCC383TDKTTT-5G3
(5) UCC283T-ADJ
(5) UCC383TD-5
(2) 378R05 (madvapes lists as: LDO 5 volt, 3.0 amp regulator with control pin)
(2) 56660S50 (madvapes lists as: LDO 5 volt, 3.0 amp regulator with control pin)

So I know the last 2 listed are 5 volt regulators, but are any boosters that can be used for vv? Is there something I don't have that would just be better? What other parts will I need (I have a few caps but probably not the right ones)? I do have a Radio Shack nearby but if I'm going to have to order online, I'd like to get everything I need (that I can't pick up at RS) in one order.

As far as a pot goes, I'd like a thumbwheel type. Anyone got any suggestions? What are the important specs I should be looking for in a pot?

One last pie-in-the-sky thing is I'd love to use one of the multi-segment LED bar graphs I have. Anyone used one before? The bar graph is OK sized, but what would I need to wire it (and would it just add too much size?)?

Finally, I can't be the first to ask most of these newbie questions (though maybe the first to ask them all in one post!), so if you can point me to another thread (especially if it's a walk-thru so simple a dog can follow it) that'd be great!

Hey MM, from your stash the boosters would be:

(1) PTN04050CAH
(1) PTN04050CAZ

The rest are regulators, the best being the 1st on your list. The others you can save for after the apocalypse. :)

Here is a link to the topic at hand, I'd suggest looking farther for schematics and details from Breaktru, MisterD, Nuck and Minus: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/164127-variable-voltage-booster.html

Not sure what you got for the LED bar graph...

If you want to reduce your soldering (;)) and like to vape at a fixed 5V; you could try this eBay boost module - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/241040-3-2-5-mod.html.

Just sayin' :D

I've nevered tried 5v, so I'm thinking if I'm going to try to wade my way through a pv build >3.7v, I might as well go vv to give me the extra flexibility. Make sense?

As far as the multi segment meter, you can take a look at this:

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

I have thought about picking one of these up and playing with the resistance to dial it in...

I have some of those exact same LED meters, but I don't have anything to run them! Thanks for the link as those come fully wired up (however the display range would need to be adjusted). I also like how there's a button to activate the display (so it's not always on)!

I do wish that there were readily available tiny displays though! The Ultimo has a fairly small display (and in video looks good, but I haven't seen one in person). Heck, a tiny 2-digital display would be ideal, but alas I may have to scrap the whole display idea and just go with markings by the pot. :(
