Can I just use this, add flavor and make a decent vape?

I really want to get into all the aspects of diy juice but just to get me started for now can I just order Nicotine - Unflavored Nicotine Your Way - E Cig : Best Ejuice | Joye eGo & eGo-T | Boge Leo | Cartomizers | E-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes and then add different flavors? Im useing 18mg nic juice now and would like to stay in that strength. If I order 18mg and then add flavor wouldn't that weaken the nic?

Sure, you could do that.

Adding flavoring WILL drop the nic content though.

Adding 2% flavoring would drop to 17.64mg nic
Adding 5% flavoring would drop to 17.1mg nic
Adding 10% flavoring would drop to 16.2mg nic
Adding 15% flavoring would drop to 15.3mg nic
..And so on..

Not sure what flavorings you intend to use, but adding anything will drop the nic a little.

Yep.

As Adeline mentioned it'll drop the nic, and some flavors require larger amounts than others.

You could get it in 24mg that way you've got room to play. Pick up some spare VG or PG locally or online and if your still above 18mg, can use it to drop it down.

this i what i do. 36mg/ml unflavored nic. prepare the pg/vg liquid with double the flavor. then do 50/50 nicotine and prepared liquid. perfect 18 mg/ml flavoured liquid.

You can make a fairly good vape that way, but it really depends on how much of a nic drop you can stand.

I drop 2mg and my intake goes way up so it would be iffy for me. It may work for you.

You dont need a test kit. As long as you can do math...
I would say get the 24mg and a lil extra pg/VG to dilute if needed.

you take 50 ml of 36mg/ml nic liquid, by adding 50 ml of 0 nic liquid you have 100 ml of 18mg/ml liquid.

to avoid mistakes and drops in the nic level you have to prepare the 0 nic liquid BEFORE mixing it with the nicotine liquid. so you take for example 20 ml of VG, now add flavor for the amount of liquid you plan to have. lets say a 2% flavor. so you add 2 ml of flavor. now add to that 28 ml of PG and you'll have 50 ml of 0 nic mix flavored liquid.

from now is a simple thing. just mix the 50 ml of 36 mg/ml nicotine liquid with the 0 nic mix you made. you end up with 100 ml of 18 mg/ml liquid.

double the amount of flavor means you add flavor for the resulting 100 ml. not for the 50 ml that you are currently mixing.

you have no idea how cheap vaping can be till you learn to diy liquids. now i buy liquids by liters, prepare for the whole year for myself and also share with friends.

Another step you can add is mix your 0 nic liquid at regular flavor strength first so that you can taste it to see if you like it. When you get it where it tastes good, double the flavor then add the nicotine liquid. This way you don't waste your precious nic liquid on a flavor that you might not like.
