I know people have sent him their own hardwood but I don't know if it's any cheaper to do so. I can't afford a wood Reo or Woodvil but I have a nice chunk of Padauk that I would like to have a Woodvil made out of.
Robert was asked that question on the thread before. You buy the wood and send it to him and he makes it. Your price is the same as if you picked a ready made one off the site.
Its the labor and artistry! Its the same if you sent him 24 carat gold for a Mini.....same price.
Whatever floats your boat. My girlfriend (and cheerleaders, and strippers, and Hustler, and.....) usually gives me wood.
