I am not even close to having all the woods that are used.

Could only take pics of what I do have.

Everyone feel free to post on here pics of the woods you have that I don't!

It will give others a chance to view more wood!

i've tried to do that several times , but when i check your pics i just get distracted...

Ooo ooo - squirrel!!! Ooo ooo- wood!!! :)

i'll keep trying...

I asked a few Reonauts if they would be interested in viewing some of the different woods that end up being our REO's.

All said that they thought it was a good idea.

So, I have put together an album of pictures of wood. These are close-up pics that show color, patterns, and grain.

With the upcoming sale of wood REO's, I am hoping this gives you a chance to view and pick out your favorite woods.

All of these pictures are parts of REO's and most have a poly coat finish.

The pictures are views of my personal REO's instead of stock photos.

Woods will vary, there may be color, grain, and pattern differences. If you have or buy a wood REO it will not be entirely the same.

I hope you enjoy these pictures!

Are you making these names up?:p

I don't think anyone could ever hope to beat your collection. Awesome images by the way, absolutely stunning. Making my mouth water for the upcoming sale.

LOL! No, those woods were actually made into REO's that are out there somewhere!

Thanks for the compliment. I didn't do this to show what all I had. Just wanted everyone to know what to expect in the different woods. Used mine because I don't have any other wood REO's around to photograph!

Looks like a Christmas "Dear Santa" list to me!! Isn't it nice to know that there are still conquests to make life worthwhile?? :)

Anyone who has asked me personally about my collection knows I go for different wood types. I love to grab the first run of a certain wood too. Since we don't really know if a wood that is used in one run will turn up in other runs.

If I do happen to get a Woodvil out of the coming run I will be looking at woods that I do not have and any woods that I have never seen for a Woodvil.

Quite a conquest is correct!

I really love the look of that bocote wood. Any idea, nerak, if that's just for doors? Or are some of the bodies in the picture Rob posted in the other thread bocote? None of them really look like the bocote pictured either in your imgur album (which is finished, I know) or on the wood DB site.

Maybe redeyedancer will answer personally? :D

Thinking about it and I do not recall a Bocote body on a REO. The pics that have been posted on the woodvil time thread are tough to determine the wood. It is a little easier after they get the first coat of finish. It brings out the color and grain.

Bocote can vary a lot like other woods. The grain pattern is a tough one.

Robert used a wood called Zircote before and I kept mixing it up with Bocote.
Bubinga can also look a lot like Bocote.

I never used bocote on any wood bodies would I sure why not . It tends to be a wood for a natural oil finish only like cocobolo oily wood
