I have a Joye eGo PT that has only seen LR attys and cartos with no problems. It's a backup PV so it's not in my main rotation but that thing is a champ. I never have to worry about having a fully-chared PV. I love the plug and vape, unplug and go aspect of it. "They" say not to use LR attys/cartos on eGos. I haven't had an issue. If you're shopping a new Fat Batt I'd look at the Kgo. It has higher voltage and 1100 mAh. It hits like a high-priced mod with a LR atty or carto. Riva would be my second choice, less voltage and mAh but still nice. eGo would be in 3rd place. If buying an eGo, get the Joye brand eGo. You can tell by the button if it's a knock-off. Some eGos have had sticking issues with the firing button stuck in the 'on' position.

KGO:
BreezEsmokes - Premium Electronic Cigarettes
Hoosier also sells them. Others do too but I stick with ECF suppliers.

Can I put a Low-Resistance atomizer on a mega style e-go?

Short answer: Yes. You'll probably get more out of your regular atties too (at least I have).

Long answer: From what I understand, LR atties tax Ego/Riva batteries pretty hard, so it may prematurely kill a battery. Still, I was using LR atties rotated on two regular Riva batteries for about 6-7 months before one died. Then I found replacement batteries for $13 each, so no biggie.

What is the difference between the cone and non-cone models?

You mean the ones with the cone-shaped atomizers? Not really sure about any performance difference. Never tried the cone type. The non-cone kind seems far more common and it uses the same atties as a 510, so I went with that.

Fat Batts I've seen come with a cone. I thought it was just an accessory at first. Actually it's stellar at capturing any leaking. Hold it sideways when you unscrew it and be ready with a napkin. Easy clean up and no worries about leaking on the button.

BTW - Kgos don't carry the warning about not using LR supplies. They're true 3.7v PVs.

You can definitely use down to 2.0ohms on Ego

Some people will go down to 1.7

Fewer will go down to 1.5

The issue is the power usage of extreme LR puts a strain on the battery. Ego and batteries like it are sealed in their outer shell and if the battery gets damaged you could get hurt. Or it could just damage the protection circuits and the battery might degrade slower by losing the ability to sense under and over charge and start holding less and less charge or working at lower voltage.

Some people will only use the really low ohms on mods which have removable cheap industrial batteries that look like AA batteries and larger and are removed the way batteries are taken out of a flashlight. They can still be damaged but since the loose batteries are charged in a external battery charger, they can be examined for damage etc. Mods usually also have more holes for a battery to vent if one does get damaged other than the hole pointed at your mouth.

Wow. Never heard of an eGo blowing up. That's really scary. Thanks for the head's up.
