Can I use my MOD to check resistance on rebuild Nova heads?

I got in a small amount of rebuilding supplies and want to try my hand at rebuilding nova heads this afternoon. i was wondering if I need to buy a multimeter to check the resistance or if putting it on my Zmax will work.

I don't want to mess up my Zmax if there is a short in the head. Will it give me an error if it does, or do i absolutely need a MM first? The cheapest one is around 20 bucks at a home improvement store and I don't want to wait for one to come in from online.

I use my Vmax to check resistance and I am trusting it's built in protection. I expect there's a possibility with a short but so far it's been fine. If anything mine's been extra sensitive and a couple of things that worked on other devices wouldn't fire.

I check my rebuilt coils with a Lavatube. When I had a short, the resistance reading would 9.9, which is the same as when nothing is attached to the device. I find the resistance check on the Lavatube to be a heck of a lot more accurate and more convenient than pulling out my $5 multimeter from Harbor Freight.

if you have a harbor freight you can pick up a cheapy for like 4 bucks and it actually reads pretty good

You should be fine using the zmax, just make sure the coil is dry when you test, for an accurate reading. Good luck, I'll be seeing you in the Rebuildable atomizer threads soon.

the zmax has built in protection, checking resistance is fine, as it has multiple safety features to keep you safe, worst case scenario you will bow a spring and need to replace it.
