This may be a stupid question, but can I use the syringe for both filling and topping off? I've seen it mentioned for filling but not topping, and I'd like to use it for topping off as I tend to be uncoordinated and fear getting liquid all over.

Filling and topping off are pretty much synonymous. I guess you could think of it as filling when the cart is not full; so go for it.
Of course you can!!! The only thing that I would caution, is that the droplets coming from a syringe are smaller than those coming from an eye dropper or a bottle. This is going to result in less liquid getting into the atty than you may be used to if you are counting drops.
Adjust as necessary!

Thanks. I kind of figured I could, since I read that filling and topping are just about the same, but I wanted to make sure because I didn't want to end up wrecking anything.
I use a syringe to fill carts, but it would seem to be a hassle to use it to top off. I top off at work and other places. I find a good plastic bottle with a long front easy to use. Many sellers carry them in all sorts of sizes.
Also when I use the syringe I like to rinse it out right away so it doesn't get gunked up. I think people would raise an eyebrow if I yanked out a needle at my desk. Might be funny though to watch expressions.

Lol...I am on disability, so I don't have to worry too much about that, unless I go out shopping or to a relative's house. Would definitely be interesting to see what they think, though
