Can liquid spoil?

I recently had a bottle of liquid that developed a very rancid taste, and just tried a new carto that had the same taste. It's rather like the taste that develops over time when you refill a cart too many times without rinsing.

Does liquid go bad? I know PG shouldn't, but maybe one of the flavorings?

In both cases it was Cowboy/Mboro. In the case of the liquid, the vapor also had a foul smell.

I'm sure it's possible, it does have an expiration date. PG is naturally resistant to bacteria and fungus.

Does it help if it's refrigerated?

I don't think it can go "bad" but being in a warm or to hot or humid climate might change all that.
would think would go before the PG on just a natural time scale but I'm not a rocket scientist, I just play one on TV, and forums.

Liquid is usually okay for 2 years.I think.

Be sure any bottles of liquid are air-tight. I had some unflavored stuff that went bad fairly quickly because of the containers they were in.

I've read of folks refrigerating their e-juice. Doesn't harm it apparently.

I kept an emergency case with cartos in my van over the summer. My suggestion, don't do that.

Otherwise I've had no problems and I have some really really old juice. Cool and dry places are a good thing.

Heat, moisture, sunlight, & air are the enemies.

Keep your liquids in a cool dark place. Its not a bad idea to put them in a zip-lock bag & force all the air out. If you have one of those vacuum sealers, that would be even better.

Inside a refrigerator tends to be a pretty humid environment, so I don't think I would store them there.

So far it's only been the one bottle and a single cart; a few more carts have had a slight twinge of the taste, but not enough to really nail it, yet. I mixed carts from a couple differents 5-packs this morning, so it'll be hit and miss if there are any more.

I keep all my stuff in a kitchen cabinet. The items in question were all stored there, along with other stuff that hasn't shown any issues, so I think I'm ok there; not ruling out storage issues, though. Temperature there is fairly constant, and the door is kept closed unless I'm actually accessing it.

The vacumm sealer is a good idea, might look into that next time I stock up.

I'm also not ruling out that my taste is just wonky right now, but thought I'd throw it out here to compare notes.

I have a small bottle of some diy stuff that I made up and it does not smell good now. I used Loranns flavorings in it and it is going into the trash. It smelled and tasted really good at first, but now, about 3 months later, I don't want to vape that. I've not had any problems with anything I've bought. Fingers crossed because I've got a ton of juice over here!
