Can nic base evaporate?

Ok so I know that I am not nuts! I noticed the last time I went to make my base that my main nicotine bottle was empty? I would have never put an empty bottle back under the counter.

So when I cracked opened a another bottle and made my base up I put a sticker where the level of my nic was afterwards. Checked it a week later and the level has went down a bit?

What is causing this? I store it in a cabinet in my bathroom. Could it be getting too hot in there due to people taking showers or something? I know that no one is messing with it so no "oh someone must be using it" That is not the case.

What type of bottle and cap is it stored in?

My concern is that it's 100% nic. If it's leaking, you need to find a new container and clean the area under your sink well.

I would say no to the evaporation ... something else is the cause.

I use 125 ml bottles with standard twist lids. And these have been frozen also. But this has been thawed for quite a while. I checked and didn't see any signs of leaking.

I am having troubles thinking of a solution of what is happening. The hot showers would not cause the loss - extremely low humidity with a loose cap - maybe, but not high humidity. I am assuming you meant 120ml glass bottles - if so - if properly sealed - they will not allow evaporation. I have bottles that are two years old and no loss has occurred.

A small shrinkage can occur going from the freezer to room temperature, but it is minimal - if it occurs after that and the bottle is properly sealed - then tampering is the only reason left that I can think of.

I have to agree with Semi. I don't think it can be evaporating. I keep my working bottle of 48 mg in the cabinet I use as my vape station. It has never evaporated a drop as far as I can tell. It is a mystery.
