I have the KR808D-1 and have several e juices from freedom smoke, wyatt earp, purecig max boro, ect but last week I noticed that they seem to have gotten harsh on my thoat and then I started to get a sore thoat and now a cough and can not smoke them because it hurts. I can smoke the real cigerettes though (I have to because I can't smoke the e cig) Is it the ejuice? I have both 24 and 30 mg nicotine and I also tried using the 16mg that came with the ecig and they are just as bad. Also - I can not smoke the sweet flavors because I don't like how they taste. Do I need to give up my e cig or am I doing something wrong. Please help as I really don't want to smoke the analogs!!!!

It could be the amount of PG in your juice. PG is very harsh and when used in combination with high nicotine levels it creates one hell of a throat hit. That could be the cause of the sore throat. You also need to make sure you're drinking plenty of water because vaping is dehydrating.

Try using juice with more VG in it if your current juice has a high PG level.

Some of my experimentation, take it with a grain of salt because I'm a noob, with the KR808D-1 that I have appears to be a combination of a couple of things. First, PG/VG percentage is one thing. Second, nicotine level in the juice. Third, type of toot or hit. Finally, fourth, air mixture. While I couldn't affect the first two items initially, I could affect the last two. If I changed my toot or hit to not be a direct inhale, holding it in my mouth first then inhaling seemed to help. I also covered part of the air holes where the cartomizer met with the battery. The stock, pre-filled cartomizers had two air holes and the blank cartomizers that I filled with my own juice had four air hole slots. If you look at the top of the cartomizer where it mates with the battery, you will see notches usually offsetting from one another (either 2 or 4). If I covered half of them (1 or 2), thereby reducing air flow and subsequently making a harder draw (just FYI), I found the hit to be less harsh. Also, it could have just been lighter pulls that may have made a difference, but I'd like to think (barring any scientific data) that I pulled the same regardless each time.

Again, this may be refuted by more experienced members here, but these were my conclusions and mine alone. YMMV

30mg nicotine? Of course it's harsh.

24mg can be pretty harsh too on an ecig with a warm hit

Try 18mg - you can always take extra drags

Nicotine is a skin irritant.

And what PG/VG do you have? 100% PG lets through the most irritation. I recommend 70pg/30vg

And what cartos are you using? the Vapor4Life WOW carts are pretty hot - they are a slightly lower resistance. try the Coolcart blanks or try the Premium KR808D-1 standard resistance blanks at LiteCigUSA.net

I don't recommend random all-VG in cartos - thick VG will not spread through tight carto stuffing well at all unless you thin it.

I think it might be a "getting-used-to-it" thing, as my experience was more or less the same, especially with early morning vaping, initially at 18 or 25mg levels and all PG. I switched briefly to all-VG, but thought it was giving me headaches and didn't like it as well. When I switched back to PG and had had a few weeks of vaping behind me, it was no longer an issue. So, do play with the levels and the PG/VG mix, definitely follow the advice about water. But in the end, it may just be a matter of your throat an bronchials getting accustomed to a new sensation.

Yes, this happened to me and worse. It’s not the ecig. I thought that too till I did some research and found out that people that went cold turkey were having the same symptoms. All kinds of things can happen when the body is getting rid of toxins. Every person is different. It depends on what you eat, your immune system, etc. When I was having problems, I noticed my cartimizer had hotter vapor than my tank, so I used the tank till I was better and could handle the warmer vaper. You could take softer draws and use the over the counter gum to help supplement. Till you get through the withdrawal. Just don’t go back, you can do this! Go to some of the regular quit smoking sites and look at the withdrawals they’re having and for how long. It’s interesting. Here’s a couple of links.

Yes yes and true. A lot of people seems to think all of their symptoms are ecig related. Try this also, stop the ecig for 24 hours and put on either a low dose patch, or gum and see if the symptoms go away. I would put cash on the symptoms remaining almost the same. Personally I am on day 2 and going though a lot of the same. I was light headed and couldn't concentrate. Just to prove a point to myself I smoke an analog and low and behold the dizzy lightheadedness went away.

Keep a symptom journal and check them against common nic withdrawal symptoms. You will be amazed.
