Can only get one.

I have finally decided to make the switch off of analogs. Several folks at work have made the switch and their advice has been unbelievably helpful. The most important advice was sending me to ECF. Second most important was lending me a set up so that I could get a feel for it before buying.

I have spent the last three weeks reading through ECF, WWV guides, you tube videos, and lots of vendor sites. The loaner set I have been using is an Ego-T. Based on that I have come up with a list of what I am looking for:

1. Least amount of hassel possible: All day battery life at a minimum, prefferably even longer as I have a bad habit of forgetting to recharge devices. Also looking for some type of feed system that let's me fill and forget. Don't want the hassle of refilling tanks, etc.

2. Flavor: Wow. The first day I tried vaping I smoked 3 cigs. I guess I had just gotten used to the taste of cow pie, but I am not going back. I have no interest in getting any where near the cigarette taste / look. Too many possibilities to waste time/ money pretending I am smoking.

3. Volume: While nice, I just don't get any volume from the Ego. I want to be able to feel the vapor inhaling and exhaling.

4. I can only get one PV. This is important as the $ I spend on smoking (1 PAD) causes a strain on my marriage. Switching to vaping has been welcomed at my house, but dropping lots of money left and right will not be.

5. Given 4, I want a conversation piece that looks nice, lasts, and can be taken with me all day. While I am willing to spend a fair amount to get a beautiful box mod, I can only get one, so I want it to be great.

So, given the above here is my plan. Any advice would be appreciated:

510 low res atty's
18650 box mod
I had my heart set on an All'i, but now that he is out of business I am looking to the Phideas Woodimus Feedimus.

I also like the look of RedSky's Cutlass VV feeder. Since I only get one shot at the apple, I would consider going the VV route for added flexibility in the future.

In terms of juice, any suggestions on what to look for to get lots of vapor?

If there can be only one, I would pick the Monkeyboxx - Beautiful wood, Customizable, great feeder system. Non - Feeder - Darwin great battery life, passthru function, no batteries to buy. That said I always keep a USB chargeable/passthru ego. They are only 20 bucks at IVape, I keep it in my bag. When all else fails, it is always ready. Even if I forget the cord, someone has a mini USB to USB cord for a camera or phone laying around. The fact that you don't have to have a specific charger makes it a perfect backup. The Darwin has the same cord.

Thanks for the suggestions. Part of the reason for the "you're only getting one" rule is that my wife knows how I am with gadgets. I have yet to meet one I would not buy. So my thinking was drop a larger amount of money on one nice piece early on, and then once I have passed my break even point I could try my hand at making a cheap flashlight mod for the spare.

He he. Not sure if it will be cheaper than my iPad. After a year of all day every day use of my iPad, I have yet to buy an accessory. Somehow I expect i will be dropping close to the price of an iPad on atty's juice, batteries, chargers, etc...

Speaking of iPads, any e-cig related apps you use? Every time I pick up a new obsession, I search for an iPad related app. I am sick when it comes to gadgets.

So many nice mods out there it can be daunting. I'm of the opinion that if I could only have one it would be an 18650 purely mechanical mod. The SuperT P18 is a beautiful mod, and is worth the 4-6 week wait to get one. The REOs are also nice, you'll need to vist their site for information on when he releases a batch and then be there ready to go when the sale starts. I don't own a Megaladon but do have a Mako and really like it. If you can spend around $200 you can get a Provari, SSGGTS, or a Darwin. The Provari and the Darwin are both variable voltage and it is hard for me to really chose one over the other though right now I personally give the edge to the Darwin, just my opinion. The Provari is easier to get your hands on but the Darwin does come in stock every so often. The SSGGTS is without a doubt the most beautiful and well crafted mod I own, like the Darwin they can be hard to get sometimes but right now they are in stock at clouds of vaper. Well that's about it for my stuff, hope it helps.

If you already had a starter kit I would definitely recommend a mod as the next logical step. But just starting out, I highly recommend having two complete units. Imo the best way to do that on a budget is to get a good fat batt kit, then start saving for a good mod. Just starting out, you'll need to experiment with some of the new cartos and juices and you can tie up quite a bit of money real quick.

As an example, you could get a kgo (slb ego clone) kit with 1100 mah batteries, some duel coils and some 2.0 ohm boge cartos, several juices and still put a couple of coins aside to start your piggy bank toward a mod. Just my .02.

I can only comment on the volume part. I use a metal bottom feeder (REO) with Boge 2.0 cartomizers instead of atomizers. It works out to about $1.35 a week for cartos, buying 15 for $19 with free shipping from Crystal Clear Vaping (with code ecf5 I think).

Anyway, on an 18650 battery with bottom feeding, you can use 50-60% VG in a carto and get the volume of vapor that matches smoking and you don't have to worry about carrying a spare atty. It's the closest feeling I've found to smoking.
