I love the itaste, even though I haven't figured out all of the settings yet, but I need a backup and really can't spend that much again right now. I want something with a USB charger, but I'm pretty open otherwise. I'll probably be keeping it in my car so I have something for when I am out and about and forget the itaste.

Any ideas on something cheap that would work? I looked at fasttech and there are a lot of choices. I figure this may be where I can indulge my fondness for bright colors. Is higher milliamp important? What else should I consider?

"mAh" only indicates how long the battery will last between charges. Technically 100mAh = 1 hour of use, but it tends to be a bit less with vaping. I generally know off an hour or 2 when giving someone an estimate, but it really depends on how much you vape and whether or not you are using vv/vw. Also, the more mAh the larger the battery will be.

Keeping it in your car might not be the best idea depending on the temperature, but that's your call.

Are you looking for something very simple or would you want another one with adjustable power?

Yeah, the car is probably not a good idea at least heading into a North Dakota winter. I've always kept a pack of analogs there and was just thinking the same way. For now cheap is probably the most important thing. Eventually I'll probably get another itaste vv, but can't justify the price now for a backup.

You're not going to get much in a backup for less than $25 or so, unless you do a fixed battery. For inexpensive quality gear (be selective), still hard to beat the iTaste 3.0 for $24.80 shipped:

$24.80 iTaste VV V3.0 Variable Voltage / Wattage 800mAh Rechargeable Battery - w/ USB charging cable at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

You can do the Twist/Spinner/Winder thing for half of that:

$12.69 EGO-C Twist "1100mAh" Variable Voltage Rechargeable Battery for E-Cigarette - silver / 930~950mAh actual capacity at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

In these two items, you get one iTaste 3.0 for the price of two twists. That's a very tough call for me, but, certainly we all understand budgets and vaping. Please remember that you probably spent a lot more than this on smoking, and your savings really can pay for your vape gear over time. Best of luck to you, happy hunting, welcome to the Forums, power up and vape on!

I could be wrong, but you sort of sound like me with my reading glasses. I have "real" glasses for driving, but I get my readers at the dollar store. I buy a bunch at a time, knowing they aren't well made, but also knowing they will do the job until they break or I lose them. Boo hoo. Fasttech has tons of generic eGo batteries. The power isn't adjustable, but adequate. I quit smoking without a vv device, and my current main vape isn't one either.

They come in multi-packs, some of the same color, some mixed. You can put anything on them you use on your iTaste, but you might pick up some little baubles if you end up buying from FT anyway.

This is just one example; $15.66 650mAh/900mAh/1300mAh Rechargeable Batteries for Ego E-Cigarette (3-Pack) - blue / USB charging cable at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Beware of buying batteries from fasttech. As of October 1st, the post office in HK is x raying all the packages and returning them to FT if they contain batteries. Its been a law that they cannot send batteries in the post for awhile but its been overlooked until now. FT contacted me about one of my recent orders and said almost all of the packages containing Batts are returned to them including at least one of mine. I've got 2 others that are not on the tracking radar that have ego twists in them that I'm unsure about right now.
I also had a ebay seller refund me with the same info on a iphone battery.
So you may be waiting and disappointed a month down the road if you choose to order from FT.

I just bit the bullet last week and bought a provari so my vision spinner will become my backup in a couple more days when it shows up. I'm tired of buying things 5 times because of cheap quality. Even after a month of vaping on my vision spinner, I notice the vape time in a day grows increasingly shorter compared to new but when its unacceptable, I would need to buy and entire new unit.
