Not everybody has the time to fiddle with rebuildable atomizers. And yes, time IS money.
Rebuildables are something of a hobby for a lot of folks. Someone struggling to quit smoking, get his/her gear working right and finding a sweet spot that tastes right doesn't leave much time for learning the lingo.
What Rob said resonates for me- squonking is pretty much the simplest least fiddly way for me to get the vape I want that I've found. I don’t really treat the equipment side of vaping as a hobby (the DIY side is another story.)
But I agree that it’s a lot to take in for someone new to vaping. A friend of mine (who had vaped a bit in the past, back in the days of fixed voltage egos and clearomizers,) asked me for advice on getting started again a few months ago and...
Well, his interest was very utilitarian, to the point that he had no interest in flavors, so I had him get a couple of Picos, a couple of Nautilus 2s, and some 18mg 70% VG base. Super simple, super affordable (coils last a while when you vape unflavored,) and way better than what I started on. So far it has gone pretty swimmingly for him.
He lives in another state, so I haven’t seen him since then. Next time I do I’ll let him try out some of the juice I mix in an RDA and see what he thinks- he might like it and get into rebuildables and flavored juice. But I think rebuildables might have been a bridge too far for him initially.
