mechanical mods to me, iv been using a mvp 3.0 and a atlantis aspire tank, I dont understand how mech mods work cause they dont have a guage what watt are they can someone give me a easy to understand explanation.

Not exactly. You build to tailor your vape. Say you build a coil and it comes out to 1 ohm. There are no electronics powering your atomizer other than the battery. The max voltage of most batteries is 4.2 volts. Using Ohm's Law, you can determine that your mod is pumping ~17 watts. This is not including calculations for voltage loss.

Mech mods do not regulate voltage or wattage. Whatever voltage is in your battery is what is applied to your coil (roughly, there is some loss as current flows from battery to coil due to natural resistance of tube, switch, 510 connection, etc.). As BrandonR noted, most fully charged batteries start at 4.2 volts. As you vape, this will decrease. Ohm's law tells us power (wattage)=voltage squared/resistance. So your watts mainly depend on the resistance of your coil build, and how much life is left in your battery. Wattage will gradually decrease as your battery drains.

Variable voltage devices mean you can vary the voltage to get a cooler or warmer vape
Variable wattage devices mean you can vary the wattage to get a cooler or warmer vape

Mech mods vary the resistance - that is, you build different resistance coils to get a cooler or warmer vape.

Mech mods rely on user knowledge instead of a computer chip. Users need to know ohms law backward and forwards and battery safety until it's coming out your ears
