How do clearomizers work?? I have a Ego passthrough and I was wondering if these work well. Right now I use LR attys and drip. Should I try a clearomizer...do they leak?

they have a wick to take liquid to the atomixzer. they are just of varying size "tank".
some are tube like. ce3/phoenix
some are more like ego cone shape, ce4? stardust
some are tank like. vivi nova
within, some are dual coil, some are top coil, some button coil. Some are short wick, some long. Bottom coil ones like the ce3/phoenix are short wick, others depend on versions and to some, preference.
The tube type, you can generally fit an ego cone over it to get that shape, the ce3 type has the shape tank so it fits the overall ego look well.

Some people love em but personally they aren't my thing. Too much hassle. Mine had to be filled upside down w a syringe and the performance just wasn't worth it...
The early models of these leaked easily from what I hear but I've got 7 and haven't had a leak problem yet. Many MANY clearo's, tanks, anything with clear plastic seem to crack with certain juices (like cinnamon flavors). Also they can leak if inverted for too long or if you twirl your cig between your fingers (no particular reason I'd know that ;-) )
I was a big fan at first (you may find posts to that effect). They are crazy easy to fill and tasted good. Then I discovered that I tended to 'gunk' them up quickly resulting in muted or burnt flavors and hard pulls. Now the thing is I believe I'm bringing most of this on myself. I use a Twist and run everything hot. By that I mean I crank it up till it glows then back down .2v until it stops glowing. I also hot box the hell out of everything! Given this poor behavior ;-) I went with a DCT Tank setup and seem to do well here.

I haven't tried them because there seems to be a lot of confusion on which ones are good and which ones are bad……and no real consistency between vendors on which ones they're selling are which models. I have a Vivi Nova version 2.5 that should arrive today that I want to try out, but I honestly don't have high hopes for it. I'm pretty sure the first time I get a dry hit from not tipping it upside down and soaking the wick that I'll just pour the juice into my tank and be done with it……but I might deal with it if the taste is close enough to a debridged atomizer (as opposed to a cartomizer with a tank).
I'm going to try a couple clearos before I actually make my decision, but it seems to me like a combination of cartos+tanks and dripping is where I'm going to settle. Who knows, though?
