I keep hearing and seeing references to dripping. What exactly is it and what equipment would I need. I have 2 eGo C Twist 650 batteries, 2 6ml tanks, 2 clearomizers and am waiting for a shipment of Boges that seems to be taking forever.

In the next 2 weeks the fiancé, God bless her, wants to order a Provari for me since I keep complaining about my battery only lasting about 4-5 hours and dropping off. I'd like to keep equipment to the minimum since she's the only one that can fill a tank in less than 60 seconds over my big thumbs and fingers. Thanks.

You just need an atomizer and juice. Screw the atty on your device, drop some juice in it and vape like a madman. It'll take a few times to know when to add more and how much but it's a quick study. On a new atty I usually drop 4-7 drops on it, then when I think it needs more I drop 2-4 more. You'll get the hang of knowing when it's time (flavor change, less vapor) and how much is too much (flooding).

Dripping some Boba's right now.

I have been vaping for about 2 months. I love to drip, take my VV and put an atomizer whether 2.0 2.5 or 3.2 even 4.0 on there and drip a few drops in there, put the drip tip on there and crank it to 4.5 to 4.8 depending on atty and vape away. I like dripping because it is a clean hit of what ever flavor I want that minute. You can change flavors easy and the vape is great. I am sure there is much more to this as I get into more I will get a 357 and crank it up but I am happy now!

I have a question about the dripping as well... I started out with the traditional (is there even a 'traditional' way to vape? LOL) atomizer tank duo thing and was never a fan but I like the cartos.. Is dripping a better hit than cartos? I've been debating on taking apart one of my atomizers to try it and use one of the carto 'rubbers' like I saw posted somewhere else to keep my lips from getting burnt.. Any suggestions?

Dripping is pretty easy to get the hang of, once you get to know your atomizer it is super easy. I learned from the you tube videos, it is pretty basic and best of all you don't have to fiddle around with your equipment to make it work better or properly. If it isn't working right it is probably user error :) Dripping is only a pain in the .... when you are driving. That is when you start taking city streets instead of the highway and instead of saying stay green stay green stay green at traffic lights your saying please turn red please turn red please turn red, or you are quickly training passengers how to drip for you LOL. I finally switched to a bottom feeder pv so I could go back to driving the highway. :toast:

I try to explain it like this....

It's more motion but less frustration.

The biggest problem people have with e-cig atty/carto hardware is juice-feeding. Too much (flooded), or too little (burnt) is bad. Carts don't feed well for atomizers. Cartos all have feeding problems and/or delays between vapes, leaks, etc. Some systems may work better than others, but it all comes down to feeding that coil the proper amount of juice.

With dripping... you put a few drops on the coil and vape em. Put a few more on, vape em. It's a manual process. But it also works well because you feed the juice. There's nothing to go "wrong" with it... or the "wrong" part is you. ;) Too many drops will flood it. Too few will let it get dry. But YOU are a lot more intelligent and flexible than any e-cig gadget. You can fix the problems...because it's you!

Drip drip drip...vape X hits...drip drip drip....vape X hits......repeat ad nauseum. A drip tip has a hole in the center so you don't have to remove it to add the drops.

The process of blowin' out the atomizer to get whatever fluid it's shipped with out, then drippin' 4 or 5 drops in and blowin' that out, after flushin' yer ready to drip. You can drip on a number of different atomizers as long as you have a suitable drip tip put on the atomizer. The flavor is not muted, you get a more consistant hit, the mouth feel is superior to cartomizers and in my opinion is better than clearomizers and such. Drippin' is all I do, however I have a rebuildable atty on the way (Pheonix) as you can make a coil closer to the ohm rating you want/need and it holds a lot of juice in a well (less drippin' more vapin'). Yes you can change flavors on the fly with regular attys (bonus). I like standard Joyetech (2.5), IO6 from Ikenvape for drippin' in fact SpicyMchaggis, I'm also drippin' Boba's on a standard Joyetech atty at 5 volts (GLV2) and really diggin' the flavor. A Provari is a great drippin' device (nice big juice well) and if you want to be able to enjoy all of the nuances in a complex juice, variable voltage devices provide that exceedingly well. Good luck and drip you some Boba's!

And I assumed it would be constant dripping, I found that not to be true. Once I drip some it can be a half hour until I need more, give or take a few minutes. I chain vape, so it's usually sooner, but most times I have two batteries going at once and toking both.

Once I switched to direct dripping I ended up stopping chain vaping, which seemed strange, I went from about 3-5 ml per day to only 1-2 ml per day. Not sure if it was because I was wasting less juice due to flooding (had an ego-c) or simply because with direct dripping there was a definate starting and stoping point or a combination of both.

You guys are gonna love this!
Bullette the Newbie Cowdog buries head in paws hiding.
My atties arrived last night. Cisco LR306 Atomizer + Drip Tip Special with an XL Black Delrin drip tip from Avid Vaper $21.49. So I open the package & i see the atomizer & long drip tip. I pick them up to inspect. The drip tip is the same size as the atomizer & will NOT fit on the atomizer. Geeez the stupid vendor must have sent the wrong thing im thinkin. I take some pics of this stupid order with my iphone. Gonna post them on ECF so everyone can see how the vendor screwed up. I look around youtube; google a bit; inspect atomizer & drip tip some more. Get a paperclip. Try to take off the tip of the atomizer by putting the paperclip in the hole like i do with my cartos. Geeeez it must be glued on there. How in the world am i gonna get the juice into the atomizer? Look for email address of supplier. Start composing email to customer service.
Then.... Drum roll...
I pull off the black cover on the atomizer to reveal, at last, a Cisco LR306 atomizer!!!
I was sooooo excited.
Glad i didnt post msg on ECF with pics. Glad i didnt sent email to vendor. I would have been so embarassed. Of course im now telling on myself. LOL
BTW. It vapes good. Im gonna like this dripping stuff.
Just thought you'd like to know my stupid experience. Lets tell the newbies the secret to dripping is to pull off the black cover on the atomizer. That helps.
Woof!

Yup. That's really all there is too it.

Dripping is only a pain in the .... when you are driving.
I usually would just drip in more than one atty ahead of time. Then lay one aside and pick up the next every 15 minutes (when the current one is getting a little dry). Wouldn't work on long trips though.

It's more motion but less frustration.

The biggest problem people have with e-cig atty/carto hardware is juice-feeding.

It's such a relief to just drip and not have to worry about wicking problems or muted flavors! But, I tend to get careless and end up occasionally with juice on my lips if I drip through my drip-tip. So, now I use an adapter on my 306 for a 510 drip-tip. That way I can take the drip-tip off to drip. I can't trust myself to be careful enough the other way.

@Dancing... Yeah, Drip Tips did that with me too. I use the plastic carts that come with many atties. I remove the foam and sometimes trim them down a bit in length. Then, I pull it off to drip.

They have a built-in path for air/vapor that reduces the juice-in-mouth issues. Big plus is that they come free with many atties. Big minus is that you have to remove it to drip.

But usually, if you don't over-drip it's OK.

I love the Cisco LR 306, still have 6 that I haven't used yet, 2 in rotation along with my 2 HH.357's also LR. The 357 wins hands down over the 306, I love the 357, hopefully I can keep them babied long enough to last the months and months as I have heard they can. I can't really afford to splurge on them all that often.

Absolutely. Cisco 306's are what I drip on. Have one in my new DCA and one in an empire mod drip shield. I've personally never found anything better. Plan on getting some 357's to try though. They get a lot of buzz but they're going to have to last super long to warrant replacing 3 306's for the price. Anyone know if the 357 fits in good senses DCA? I have all the adapters except the io6.
