Coils are what heats up the juice and turns it into vapor. I have never seen anywhere that they can be changed. LR stands for low resistance, SR stands for standard resistance. Dual coils have two coils in them that heat up the vapor.

Low resistance cartomizers are usually 2 ohms or less. Standard resistance cartomizers are 3 ohms. I know all of this is confusing, so I will explain it the way someone explained it to me. Think about it this way, the voltage of your PV is like a stove, the higher the voltage would equal raising the flame higher. Your cartomizers are a pan on your stove. Using a 3.7 volt PV with a standard resistance cartomizer is like boiling water in a regular pan. Using the same 3.7 volt PV and a low resistance cartomizer is like trying to boil water in say tin foil. The water you try to boil in the tin foil will boil much faster because the heat can get to the water faster. Same goes for vaping a low resistance cartomizer will heat up the juice much faster making for a warmer vape.

Hope that helped.

Coils are part of the atomizer (or the atomizer within a cartomizer), and are the actual nichrome heating elements that atomize e-liquid into a vapor.

Its what heats up your liquid and turns it into a vapor.

SR - standard resistance
LR - low resistance
Dual - two coils usually in parallel (2 exact same coil in parallel provide half of the total resistance, placing most of them into "low resistance" range)

In short, and without any detailed physics here - the lower the resistance is, the more power is dissipated on the coils (with fixed battery), meaning faster heating, meaning warmer vapor. Also meaning the coils will get ruined faster, which brings me to another advantage of dual coils - they use materials with higher individual resistance, to bring the power dissipation to LR levels.

What PV do you use?

Bc if you use a slim ecig (one that looks like a real cig), you can only use standard resistance attys and cartos.
Low resistance cartos and dual coil cartos are only for bigger battery PVs

Damn you guys are good!!!!

Thanks I understand now.

The e-cig I use os the Rok starter kit, which is the same size as a normal .... Is this called a 510?

Cheers again everyone

510 is the size of the connection to an atty or carto. The 306 atty threads are the same as a 510, but the difference is the drip tip for a 510 fits into the atty/carto and a 306 drip tip fits over the 306 atty/carto. I've also read that the 306 is a little more forgiving in dripping. Although i haven't experienced that.
