I have been using a 510 manual, and I am frustrated as to why I can hardly ever taste any flavor in the e-liquid that I order, and I must add that I only order e-liquid that is recommended on this site and gets good reviews.

Well today I received my e-liquid from two different highly recommended sites. Sixteen bottles in all and I sampled each one of them and NONE of them have any taste to them. Not a one! I even ordered most of the flavors that people here have tried themselves and said they were very good, but I don't taste any flavor at all.

I am very disappointed and at my wits end with "16" new bottles of different flavors of e-liquid with no taste to them. I have normal taste buds and the e-liquid has gotten good reviews, so I just can't understand what I could possibly doing wrong and why I can't taste any flavor?

Thank you for your help.

Neither here nor there
Your taste buds should wake up within a few days/weeks.
510s do not produce as much flavor as a 901, but the throat hit/vapor is better.
Get some stronger juice and add flavoring to it.
I had used a 50/50 mix of 48 mg unflavored and Lorann's blackberry for awhile.
It would choke me now that my taster is functioning.

I'm going to have to go with the consensus and say that if flavor is what you're looking for primarily then you're probably going to want to go with a different model.

That being said, I do get some flavor out of my 510 with the stock batteries. Most flavors are subtle, but definitely discernable from juice to juice. My favorite was a coffee/chocolate mix from Tasty Vapor. It was subtle but tasty. I got a Cafe Machiatto flavor from them that was pretty strong even in my 510 (I actually didn't like it). I've also had some different flavors from Nhale.com that were pretty good as well (RY4, Marlbro, Coffee and Coffee/Chocolate/Tobacco).

The strongest flavor I've gotten was from Cignot.com and it was the Cherry Cola. The flavor in that one was very strong! So much so that it actually got stuck in the atty and I couldn't get it out lol. Usually vaping another flavor for a little while will wear down any other flavor, but the Cherry Cola refused to die. :nah:

I don't really go for the flavors too much, I'm more of a fan of lots of vapor so as long as the vapor is plentiful and relatively pleasant tasting, I'm a happy camper.

My experience with the 510 is that you need a good strong flavor like coffee or tobacco. The 510 does tend to lose flavor. Also, if it's a new atty it might need a little break in period. I see that your join date is in November and if you have been vaping that long then the tastebud thing shouldn't apply anymore unless you are still smoking some. Even just a couple of cigs a day can impair taste. If you are more interested in flavor than TH then you might want to consider a 901. If it was me I would buy an adapter and a couple of 901 attys and give it a try on your 510 battery. It's a cheaper way to see if you like the 901 better before sinking money into it. You could do the same for cartomisers if you wanted.

Well, not to go against the grain, but I've been using a 510 since August 2009 and I still taste plenty of flavor! :D

I have to say, I haven't liked much anything except Drews HV liquids at Nhaler. Dawn at DIYFlavorshack is pretty good, too, (double flavor option) but she's on hiatus.

Also, try the PTB Made Easy cart mod for the 510. Works for me! :D If you're still using polyfill, that dampens the flavor, IMO.

I didn't realize that even a couple of analogs a day can hinder flavor. The fact is that I do smoke a couple a day (from a pack a day habit), as I use the excuse that I get bored with tasting the same flavor all the time, so I throw in an analog a couple times of day, but I know I'm defeating my own purpose.

I will also try different mods as suggested, and stop playing games with the analogs.

Thank you.

You don't say if you are getting plenty of vapor or not. If you don't have that, you'll get no flavor.

I've noticed that people with incorrect user technique and/or incorrect e-liquid refill technique say the same as you.

You should ensure that your cart is well-filled and that you then use a drag method that puffs up a lot of vapor. If you've got all that and still no taste, then it's something to do with you and not the ecig.

As a last ditch thing you could see exactly how bad your personal taste is by adding a mint or menthol flavor to your vape, it's about the strongest of all. An easy way is to just add two or three drops of peppermint oil direct into the top of the cart (from the food flavoring shelf at the mart, 100% natural oil and not the synthetic flavor).

If you have enough vapor and you can't taste that, then maybe the problem is you, not the ecig, as that flavor is strong.

OMG, same thing happened to me with the cherry cola from nhaler. the flavor took forever to come out, and it was yucky for me, but my husband liked it. i also use a 510 at 3.7v and some flavors are really faint, and some are really really strong. nhaler was strong, american e liquid was medium, and electronic ash was really weak.
