I'm really keen to get myself a p16 together with the new feeder when it comes out but I'm really not a big fan of stainless steel.

Can you see anything wrong with painting the p16 ? I'm not talking about a DIY with a spray can type of paint but professionally done ... I know a lot of the car gurus on this one forum that I frequent often get their rocker covers, calipers etc painted using some paint that's extremely heat resistant.

I'd love a p16 in black ..perhaps leaving just the end caps stainless.. Question to Dave, have you ever considered offering paint services for atleast the main body/tube ?

It's highly unlikely the paint could get chipped in a fall if it's just the main tube that's painted. I'm looking at an ego MegaXL battery right now and it's painted so nicely (for such a cheap massproduced product) and not all the way to the edge so even if you were to drop it, it can't chip (as the weight of the battery will always force it to fall on the bottom endcap which is unpainted)

Some of the paints used in automotive industry eg. for painting brake calipers, wheels etc are rather tough .. they have to be as they come in contact with rocks/gravel and the elements all the time and at high speeds.

I'm probably gonna end up doing this regardless, as it's kinda cheap (I was surprised how cheap it was to get 4 whole car wheels painted profesionally) and because like I said, not a fan of SS - at all -.

Would be nice if it was an option to get the main tube in a color of your choice though :)

i've never had much luck with painted surfaces on e-cigs. i get the dropsies too often with my bad hands lol.

a silicon sleeve would be cool. i'm still trying to find a case with a clip that i can put on my waistband so i can carry it more places.
Try looking at flashlight holsters, I use one that clips on and it works great.

I was thinking a hydrographics dip process like these guys do: Water Transfer Printing / HydroGraphics / Camo Dipping

If you were going to do 30 or 40 that'd be great but it's $60/hr with a $500.00 minimum order.
That's like Powder Coating, Electroplating, anodizing, gold plating, etc....
It's the setup fee that'll kill ya on a onesie twosie thing..

I had the lower on a Sig P220 Teflon Coated -$200.00
Had the trigger, cocking hammer, clip release, decocker and screws 24k gold plated $325.00

Custom work like that'll eat you up fast..

eww.... they apparently changed their prices since I first looked it up....yeah now that place isn't an option anymore...
previously it was just based on square inches and if any prep work had to be done...
( I had originally contacted them for a quote back when I got my S6...and at that time it'd have cost me about $50 to get that done)...
