can vaping too much increase urination ?

Ever since I started vaping I have been ...... much more than usual and just after going to the bathroom I feel the need to go again, this is super bothersome and annoying. I read online that some other people also have been having this same problem. I also read something about vg/pg being humectants that can make you pee a lot when they enter the bloodstream. Does anybody know something regarding this issue and the properties of vg/pg ? I love vaping so much and it has enabled me to quit smoking cigarettes altogether, I used to smoke 30 cigs a day. I consume at least 10 ml e-juice a day with 6 mg nic on my wismec rx 200 with the SMOK tfv12 tank ( v12-t12 coil ). Any help on this matter is hugely appreciated

I'm not a chemist or biophysicist, but I know nicotine...like caffeine... is considered to be a stimulent. Stimulents can have a side effect of urinary frequency and increased urination. Just ask a coffee addict.

Pg and Vg are indeed humectants. As it pertains to vaping, they tend to draw moisture from the oral mucosa which can result in dry mouth. This is one of the reasons that vets recommend to vape novices to increase their water intake.

If you haven't increased fluids you have a very dry mouth by now. Thinking you probably are drinking more without noticing. If not then make an appointment with your doctor.

I'm not aware of any similarity with the diuretic effect of caffeine. Cartoon shows a nephron in the kidney, responding to caffeine. "A1R" is the A1 receptor of adenosine.

When I drink caffeine I go to the bathroom more frequently. Pita since caffeine is often a necessity. I do drink more fluids since I started vaping and my body eventually adjusted after a few months or my bladder muscles got stronger, not sure which.

I don't know if there is a direct correlation, but often times dry mouth would lead to drinking more fluids, however your body may be responding differently (maybe a doctor's appointment is in order.)

It's possible that upping your VG ratio in your eliquids may help, as to the best of my knowledge, PG is more dehydrating than VG.

It's equally possible that it's something your body may adjust to over time. I drink a fair amount of coffee but I've done so for decades, it's really not that much of a diuretic once your body adjusts at least so says MY doc (the only source I have on that) he indicates the diuretic effect is more pronounced early on and over time your body just treats it pretty much like any other liquid.

I didn't complete medical studies, or even begin them, so technically I'm not qualified to give medical advice. But that's never stopped me before. Now then, frequent urination unless accompanied by pain/discomfort is not going to be a big problem for a man of 33, and I'm sure you should set any concerns aside. Uncontrolled urination, whereby you don't make it to the bathroom in time - a soggy horror I can tell you - is another matter entirely but, and again in view of your relative youth, would most likely be due to a bladder infection and is easily dealt with by antibiotics. Is your perceived increased urination due to vaping? I doubt it, but I really don't know, and neither will anyone else, not even my esteemed colleague Dr Google. If you're still troubled by this matter in a few weeks then you could take it further, but for now I suggest you be cool and let your bodily functions restore themselves to your normal routine.

Your fluid intake has probably increased without you being aware of it.
People new to vaping are prone to jumping to conclusions on cause and effects of vaping on the body.
From my own experience most of my initial conclusions were wrong.

I know I do. I have also increased my water consumption, so it is to be expected. 10 ml a day is a pretty good amount, so I'd say yes. You haven't increased your water consumption? You really should.

Man, thank goodness reading about a bladder infection and the associated anxiety doesn't lead to one.... Here's hoping anyway. LOL.

But seriously unless your need to pee has like, QUADRUPLED or something, I think perhaps the advice to wait it out a bit is good.

Also, is there ANYTHING else going on that could lead to this? Some meds actually cause it as a side effect, if you really THINK you have whatever medical condition that causes your urine to not be concentrated down by your kidneys your doc could give you the 24 hour pee test for that.

You basically go about your day, but you measure ALL your intake of fluids. The less fun part is you then COLLECT all your urine, and if it's more than oh, I will say, a standard deviation above normal, well you'll have your answer.

Because usually SEVERE increased urination without increased intake is caused by your kidneys deciding they just don't want to bother concentrating your urine for you, if you sincerely think you aren't upping intake. Whether vaping can precipitate this is highly debatable, but this would be the only way to know for sure.

A doctor could help you with that, although like, usually for such a test to be covered the issue has to be SEVERE and PERSISTENT it is also NOT so much fun from what I hear. Etc.

Take the stuff dat the women's take for UTI's. It'll work. Da women's are smart. Just wait til there ain't any of em in that particular aisle at the RX (they'll tell u stuff that we men ain't prepared to be hearing).

I've seen them sort stuff out w/o throwing hammers thru walls and cussing too much. They's just talk amongst themselves for a lengthy time and go about fixing stuff. They can be tricky about it tho.
