Can you guys help me?

I got an aga-t2 in the mail last week and i've been trying all week to get the darn thing to work right. I dont have any mesh at the moment so i'm building it with silica and i always ( and i mean ALWAYS ) get a hot leg on the positive connection. ohms read right where i want them when i build the coil and then i try to test fire it and the positive lead always gets hot fast and the POP goes the hot leg. I've popped at least 7 coils just because of the positive lead being a hot leg. how on earth do i avoid getting a hot spot there?? I'm so frustrated with it i'm about to throw it out the window. (but then i remember its glass and dont lol ) anyone have any tips or hints?

I'm guessing it's the coil legs. They need to be even length. It makes you have to bend the topleg towards the center post. People have modded them with washers from a hardware store

you're getting a hot leg with silica? What are you wrapping . . .. #wraps, resistance, VV?

I'm gonna guess you're trying to do too low a resistance level with too fine a wire, and your coil (shape of a coil) is almost non-existent. Like, 2 "wraps" that look more like a short squiggle. JUST A GUESS, THO

I'm using 2mm Silica, 32 gauge kanthal with a 5/4 wrap coming out to about 2-2.5 ohms, i'm also testing the resistance on a vamo as thats the only thing i have to test on. i rebuild all of my protank and evod heads with no problem but i just for the life of me cant figure this thing out. I know rebuildables have a learning curve but i've been at this for like three hours alone today and still cant get it right

what gauge wire are you using? and how are you setting it up? vertical genesis style or horizontal vivi nova style? also, what mm wick are you using? Do you have enough wick stuffed in the coil part?

I've tried setting it up genny style and vivi style and they both get a hot leg coming off of the positive connection

32g is pretty thin for an AGA-t, I use 30g in mine with silica, 32g in my t3 heads. Can you post a pic of your setup? Also try notawoman's tip of making the top leg as short as possible, or conversely, making the bottom leg longer; you want them pretty much even.
