So I looked this up on the internet and got a lot of varying responses...
Kind of like discussing battery safety here on this forum.
:)

I expect nothing less with this question, but here goes...

I have a new car charger and it is very hard to remove once plugged in to the lighter.
So I thought maybe I can just leave it plugged in all the time?

But will it drain my car battery?

Does the charger still charge when the key is off? I had a car that I could charge things without the key. This one that I have now, can't do that with. I have to have the key on. Now, I don't know the positive answer to your question, but my thinking is, with the car I have now, no it wouldn't since there is no power to the outlet thing.

I hope someone will be able to difinitively answer your question. :)

Just thought about this, I wonder if your dealer would know, if you don't get any answers.

My boss leaves his iPhone charger plugged in the company delivery van all the time, and the socket supplies voltage wether the key is on or not.

He's done this since he got the iPhone (about 3 years ago), and we only use the van on Mondays and Thursdays.

So far we still have the stock battery in the van, and it has always started right up.

I don't know how much voltage the adapter draws without the phone attached, probably just enough to light the led in it, but it doesn't seem to pull enough to drain the battery in the van.
