Can you punch black Boges for tank use?

I have a bunch of black Boges that I got before going to a tank and then getting ss Boges. Can I punch and use the black ones in a tank? Any problems with the black covering sitting in the juice or the slight diameter increase not fitting correctly?

I am by no means an expert...I saw a video of an expert(dont remember where) and he mentioned stripping the black skin then cleaning w a solution/cleaner w emphasis on NOT getting any cleaner inside the carto. Then punching or slotting (your choice) and using in a tank. I believe it was pbsaudro. Sorry for destroying his name. Thats close but definetly not right.
I took a small knife and kind of etched/scratched a couple of boge cartos for the purpose of marking diff flavors and it did come off fairly easy. Obviously, you want bare, clean steel inside the tank

I would try to get the black wrapping off first. some alcohol or "goof off" should take care of any sticky residue. I do remember reading somewhere not to use wrapped cartos in a tank

Wrapped cartos are just a smidge too tight to fit in most tanks.If some liquids make the tanks crack,just think what it would do to paper(vinyl,plastic,whatever it is) and adhesives

plus you wouldn't want the paper and glue mixing in with your juice! It's a pain getting the sticker off..so much so that I just bought ss for tank use and use the remaining black ones without the tank.

Put the empty carto in the freezer for 30 min or so. It makes taking the sticker off much easier. Make sure to get all the adhesive off before you use it in a tank.
