Follow-up to bogus Innokin Itaste MVP

I returned to the vape shop, two weeks to the day, after purchase and my east coast vacation as per the agreement with the owner.

The same girl was at the counter, apparently not the/an owner... I'll tell more about that in a second...and she absolutely refused to take the bogus Itaste back.
Like the last time when I came in 10 minutes before her closing at six, and prior to my and the owners vacation, I asked to speak to the owner.

Grudgingly, the girl at the front counter called the owner ...the owner came out with, of all things, a real Innokin Itaste MPV in her hand sans tank...I guess she was going to refill...but it was definitely a real Innokin Itaste MPV.

i reintroduced myself to refresh her memory as to what had transpired two weeks ago and said that I wanted to return my non, I didn't say bogus, I said "non Innokin vaporiser".

The girl behind the counter chimed in and said, "You've had this for two weeks.. it's yours now.

Boss lady sez, "Let me handle my business..."

I started to go into the details of what Innokin had said and what others of you on this board have said, about the black unit you saw in my YouTube demo.

She wasn't having any, saying that her distributer told her it was the real deal.....already pulling out her check book...refusing to see any of "our" damning evidence (mine, Innokin's, and y'all's on the board who responded here)....her REAL Innokin Itaste MVP placed next to her on the counter, so she could write the check.

I shut up and took the check...offering to give her one of my unused tanks from my good unit.... until I discovered that it wouldn't fit on the black unit as it doesn't have a riser for it to screw into like the real unit does.

I thanked her, and turned to leave, but asked her l if she would prefer that I didn't come back. She was noncommittal in her answer.

Keeping in mind, I did what I did, said what I said, saw what I saw, and heard what I heard...as reported here....I ask y'all.

Should I reveal the name and location of the Vape shop here?

I have my own thoughts, but I'd like to hear from y'all first.

Genuine mistake?
Outright fraud?
Somewhere in between?

Las Vegas now has 26 B&M shops. Some of the recent trips to the new Vape stores was like surfing the FT website. In fact, in several of them, I didn't see a single product that FT doesn't sell. Pricing was two or three times more, and I really want to help these guys out, but $8 for a plastic drip tip, and $3.00 for a carto? Hard to support the community when I have to pay three times the known price with free shipping. Nevertheless, I did buy the drip tip and two carto's to support the community. But, seriously, I can't lay out big cash for the more pricy items.
God tell me about it, this smoke shop by me was trying to charge 16 for a 15ml red bull e juice. Sadly I bought it because the other shops were all selling voda which says it's carcinogenic on the label and I didn't notice it until I refilled a few carts. Had some on the way in the mail and needed a vape but that's just down right greedy.

That whole situation with the Inokin sounds a little shady, especially when the shop refuses to acknowledge the problem. Before I found ECF I bought an Atmos optimus for 88 which comes with two heads and 2 batteries, from the smoke shop by my work in Tempe and out the box one of the batteries was a dud. The other one crapped out in 4 days. The smoke shop told me to contact Atmos since it was under warranty. On the site it says you may pay between 12-15 or so for s/h to have a new battery sent under the warranty. The lady on the phone told me it would be 25 to replace both batteries. So if this fee is for shipping and handling then why am I being charged twice for one package? Its either that or send both batteries in which will take 4 days to get there, then it would take them up to 2 weeks to process it, and finally it would take another 7 days to come back to me. That's a long time to go without vaping, that's not even an option! So now I'm stuck paying for a manufacturing flaw and they have the nerve to say satisfaction guaranteed on their site.
I reminded the lady on the phone of how it crapped out in 4 days and she said she would give me a discount and knocked it down to 20 dollars. Thanks...but that's still 20 ...... away for your mistake. Here is the email I sent customer service.

"I am shocked how poorly my problem was resolved, I am left feeling like I got ripped off. Not only did my product have one battery which didn't charge right out of the box, the other one failed the same way within 4 days. This is a manufacturing flaw which should be covered by your manufacturer.

I should not be out of 2 batteries with 1 faulty cartomizer and have to pay you 20 dollars to correct your problem. If the charge is for s+h then why am I being charged twice for one delivery. This is completely unacceptable behavior for a company with a supposed good reputation and satisfaction guarantee. I am not willing to send out my batteries and be out of an e cig for 3 weeks only to get a refurbished one back, that's ridiculous. I work hard for the money I make and can't afford to piss money in the wind like this. I have a long memory for poor service like this"

As the owner refunded you, despite her assertion that it was "genuine" (It clearly was not) two things appear clear.

1. At least you got refunded - good!

2. This is not a shop I'd have any other dealings with in the furue. I patronize NEVS in CT, and while their prices are certainly higher than what I can get on line, they are a reasonable mark up, and they are authorized re-sellers of quality vaping products, and if I ever got a "clone" that was not sold as such, there would not even be a moment's hesitation for the owner to make it right.

One thing about B&M pricing: I have no issue with local vape shops selling goods at slightly higher prices than normal on-line vendors...there expenses are higher and they, not the customer pays for shipping, although a large mark-up is not something I'd tolerate...bottom line, you should know as an informed consumer what the going prices for vaping gear is...especially when you are talking about a mod, eGo battery, etc.

However, Fast Tech sells stuff at close-out pricing, so I would not use Fast Tech as a measuring stick for prices at a B&M store...I'd use main stream on line vape vendors as a more accurate indicator of fair pricing.

This is not the place for negative reviews.

If you have a negative review, post in the negative review forum or in the suppliers thread/forum. If they are a registered supplier here- that is the only place they can post.

If you're gleaning information from members that's fine.
