:2c: Just a quick introduction...I'm Pennies and I'm joining you all from Winnipeg, MB, Canada. I learned a couple of months ago about the e-cig and became instantly interested. Although I currently still pump my body full of carcinogens from real cigs, I've always been hesitant to try the "quit smoking drugs" since I hate the idea of popping pills and the strange side-effects that those can bring, both mentally and physically. I've tried the "cold turkey" without any cessation products, but that didn't last very long, so I know now that some type of help is needed.
Now that I've seen so many e-cig success stories, I'm pretty sure that this is the next step for me, but where do I even start? I guess step 1. and 2. are done

1. Decide that it's about time to quit smoking.

2. Find an active support group to answer any questions (ECF)

Now....I just need to figure out the rest of the steps, like where and what type of e-cig to purchase for a newbie like me. Thanks for reading my intro and happy vaping everyone!!! :2c:

Welcome to ECF, Pennies. All I can say is read, read, read.....ask questions.....and read some more.

A good place to start is the "Wonderful World of Vaping" series here in the ECF library: The ECF Library to get a feeling for basics.

Then, come back and ask away. Right now, if you were to ask "what kit to buy?" you will get so many answers your head will be spinning, and you'll get many, many differing opinions. I wish I had read the basics before I started!

You've made a smart choice!

Edit: P.S. - Once you've made 5 posts here in the New Members Forum, in about an hour you'll be able to post anywhere, including the Canadian forum. They will be able to help you figure out what your options in Canada are.

They are really helpful. I'm a newbie too. Toronto, Canada.

Ordered myself a product from Janty and it's stuck in customs in Hamilton :(

I didn't get anything with nic in it as advised by people here. But there is a chance they won't let the hardware alone pass either.

I hope this gets cleared up soon, it'll be my first e-cig and I'll be flying to Tokyo in a week and won't be back for 3 weeks and I REALLY want it for the 14 hour flight as well as to have in Japan.

Anyway, 4 more posts and I can post in Canadian forum :)

I'm definitely feeling like I'm going down the right path and am making a wise decision. I'll be checking out the Canadian forum soon and I'm sure that I'll be guided properly. It was actually a warning through a Google search that lead me to this site...a warning about a guy selling in Winnipeg and his product is horrible and somewhat of a scam. All the info is here....I'll just have to dig around to find what device will suit me best. Thanks.

Welcome and good luck. I hope for your sake that your device shows up, as I know that a 14 hour flight would drive me insane without some type of relief.

Thanks... and if I can't get it cleared by the time I leave, I'm just going to probably pick one up in Japan. At least that way I'll have one for my 14 hour flight back lol
