Its bad enough Health Canada takes the old stance the FDA did prior to being challenged.
The only part of the quote below that doesn't bother me is banning it from minors...

"So, the CCS wants the government to include a provision to regulate electronic cigarettes in the tobacco Act to:

  • Ban their sale to minors
  • Control their advertising/promotion
  • Regulate product ingredients and emissions
  • Ban electronic cigarettes from being smoked in public places where tobacco is not allowed "

Any chance CASAA has a Canadian counterpart?

Couldn't follow your link, but the old expression "follow the money" applies here. The anti-cancer dot orgs and 'societies' rely on donations. They run the public service ads on cancer/tobacco dangers. Then they ask for contributions to help 'fight the good fight'. These contributions go to salaries, more PSA's, more fund raising, with some left over for actual cancer research. A lot of people are against smoking because '"second hand smoke" can kill them, or at least that is what 'studies' have shown. Plus it smells bad, is a readily identifiable target, and is one of the few past times that you are legally allowed to harass! Nothing like throwing stones at a sinner to give you that self-satisfied feeling! Fewer smokers (due to being able to quit with e-cigs) equals fewer bad examples equals less of a problem in the anti-smokers eye equals less donation money to them equals out of a well-paying job! So lets ban e-cigs so we maintain the status quo and our comfy jobs!

It's always nice to see when the light bulb appears above someone's head...
There is no fairness here. There is no concern for life here. It's all about the money.

Real links to the documented money flow will be gladly provided upon request.
I sort of collect such links, for the sole purpose of propagating them for educational purposes as needed.

But for now, this is where it stands...
--"Non-profit" "health organizations" will nearly go out of business if electronic cigarettes become the norm
--Big Pharma companies will lose millions if not billions, if electronic cigarettes become the norm
--Big Tobacco will lose millions, if not billions, if their they can't force their useless brand of electronic cigarettes to become the norm through regulation
--States, cities, counties, and the federal government will lose an uncalculated amount in sin taxes if electronic cigarettes become the norm

Let's see, who else is there that would suffer if vaping became mainstream...
--Insurance companies?
--Hospitals and medical centers?

Well, I guess that's all I got for now.
But I'm probably missing some players in the downstream flow of money generated by letting smokers kill themselves.
