Candy flavors question... (dirived from actual candy)

We have a HUGE bag of Skittles here and was wondering if anyone had tried this or know anything about it...

Being a nubie, I just don't know if it'd be worth doing or even trying. I was wondering if I boiled some bottled water and put some Skittles in a glass jar and allowed them to dissolve (or any other type of candy for that matter) If it'd be a flavoring that would be usable...? It's a really high sugar content and wasn't sure if it would be okay or not... (among other things as well)

Not. It's all sugars, binders and food coloring.

This will be a carto/coil killer!! The sugar will caramelize on the coil and make it useless in a few puffs, plus it will give off a burnt flavor.

I can't help but wonder... if you get the water hot enough to boil and direct the steam to a container... when it turns back into water, will it still have the flavor?

Hmmmm... didn't think of that. From boiling it and getting the 'steam' result, I wonder how that would change the compound chemically.

Your talking about distilling. You will wind up with just water and everything else will be left over and burnt to the bottom of the pot. But if you want to try it let us know how it works out.
