Don't know where, but randomly heard about "vaping" about 2 weeks ago. I'm an American expat living in the Philippines after I retired from the Navy some years ago. Have really bad bronchitis - probably from smoking the cheapest cigs possible for the last 30+ years, so I thought vaping was the way to quit. I was also a Camel man.....

Went to a local mall and found a little tobacco joint that actually had some and bought the eGo-T. I was impressed with the technology, but not the flavors that were pre-packed in the kit. So I went back the next day and bought a couple more flavors. Still not impressed. Best 'flavor' for me now isn't even tobacco, it's a mix of chocolate, coffee, hazelnut, caramel and cotton candy (of all things). Tastes like smoking a cappuccino or something, but it's working.

Then the homework kicked in. Been researching almost non-stop for 2 weeks now and I'm finally heading in a positive direction. This forum will obviously confuse the schick outta me because all the brand names used in the U.S. don't apply to me here, but I'll eventually figure things out. Currently I still have the eGo-T as a back up (hate how they leak sometimes) but use 900mAh and 1100mAh eGo style batteries with CE4's and CE5's. Most of the suppliers here get them directly from China, so I decided to cut out the middle man and buy direct from them myself. Placed my first order 30 min ago. We'll see if it even shows up.

Anyway....there's my intro. If anyone can tell me the best Dekang flavor that tastes like Camel's let me know.

Grats man and good to have you on board! Yeah, the 'tank' that comes on the EGO-T gets a lot of complaints about leaking. I didn't care much for the performance of it either, to the point that I got my local shop to start pushing the purchase of Stardust clearo's with the EGO kit they sell (they piece meal it for their customers anyway).

I don't have experience with the tobacco flavors so I'm not going to be a lot of help there. I will say that the few people I've converted to PV's started with tobacco flavors and very quickly (few days to 2 weeks) switched over to non-tobacco flavors. For man of us tobacco never really tasted that good, it was just tied to our nic fix so we got used to it. You may discover the same. Now that being said I have tried a newport knock off and a marlboro knock off. They were really quality liquids from my local shop but they were a far cry IMO from the real deal. I think you could go through quite a bit of online orders of juices trying to find that camel taste you're looking for and never really get there. Instead I'd suggest that you go with one of the favorite tobacco flavors on the forum, either RY4 or Bobba's Bounty. Get to 5 posts then ask about suppliers in your regional forum and I bet you can find a good vendor.

Welcome :)

Dekang juices are not the best, they add a product that, and that is my analogy, add an ashtray aftertaste which I dislike a lot.

You might want to look elsewhere for an enhanced experience.(away from China juices)

Uggh......if you missed that part about me being an American expat living in the Philippine.... I don't have access to American "juice". I mean, I could get someone in the U.S. to buy me some and ship it here FedEx or something, but shipping would kill me. I'm forced, by necessity, to use whatever the locals can import (usually from China). So I get Dekang or Ching-chang's juice or whatever else comes around. I too am worried about what's in the juice I get (remember the infant formula thing from a couple of years ago) but don't have many options.

I'm also shying away from tobacco flavors for the most part. I got a Marlboro Light flavor that actually tastes nothing like cigarettes but I kinda like it - for some unknown reason. I just ordered another 62 bottles of 10ml e-liquid Dekang juice from China and am hoping one of those flavors will fill some void. I think it was like 25 flavors or something, pretty cheap. Maybe I can mix and match some more concoctions to come up with something.

I only have 9 flavors so far and only 1 is OK....the best I've found is in combining a few of them in the CE4, although I haven't written it down and replicating it is kinda hit and miss.......it's a beer thing.

Thanks for the input. I have RY4 (heard a lot about it) and some labelled Camel on order along with a couple dozen other flavors. We'll see how it goes.

Hi Paul! I'm new to this whole thing, but it's got me hooked already. problem is i don't have much cash flow at the moment, so i have to macgyver a lot. Which brings to the reason i am replying to this thread. I am currently working/asking advice on completely DIY e-juice. As soon as I have some made up I will be posting recipes and i'll let you know how they work out. I made a flavorless VG/water mix so far, works wonderfully (i don't care for the throat hit). now i may add alcohol to help extract flavor and add some TH but we will see. bottom line, hopefully if i can figure out some good tasting recipes you might be able to craft them as well in your location. don't know if you are into DIY but it's a fun experiment anyways. especially if it's difficult to get certain flavors or brands where you are.

You will find that there is quite the vaping community in the Phills. There is also a Phills subforum here on ecf. There is a lot more availible there than what you would imagine.

BTW Cebu is a nice place! I did a stint at Lapu-Lapu way back when it was an AFS. (ya I know, I'm old)

You're right, I'm finding there IS quite the vaping community here, only it's still up north in Manila. I have 3 or 4 really good contacts up north that have helped me tremendously in the last couple of weeks.

The main problem is we have 2 sources in this country. Either import it from the U.S. or buy from over 2000 different companies in China. I wanted to jump right to the top and buy the Provari, but getting a real one here is close to $300 with only the unit, batteries and charger. Can't really justify that. The Filipinos that import the Chinese version want about $120 (while I know they're actually paying much, much less per unit) so I can't go there either.

Rock and a hard place....

Once I hook up with the Phil vaping community more, I'm sure to find some deals. It kinda works like that over here.

side note: I was stationed here in 82-85.....finally came back in 06 for good.....
