So, here's the thing. I have the funds and desire to buy a dna 40 or similar higher powered device. I considered a mech mod, an IPV and a DNA. I currently vape a Provari 2.5 with kayfun lite. I vape between 12 and 13.5 watts with a 28ga, 1.5ohm micro coil with Rayon using 12mg juice. Every time I browse to choose which device to buy, I can't help but notice the healthy, thick plumes of vapor as they billow out of my mouth and nose. The flavor is grand and the vapor satisfying.
The problem? I am an enthusiast at heart and want to take the next step, but can't find a reason to. I am perfectly satisfied with 13 watts, and this bothers me. Every time I think about what it would be like to have more vapor coming out of my mouth, my thoughts are:

More juice being used
Less battery life
Less convenience from a dripper
No more satisfaction required from where I am now
404 - reason to upgrade not found

If you are content, revel in it. Vape fashion is just that.

That said, I, too, was a very satisfied kayfun/provari vaper. Then I got a mech (reo) which allowed me to use a variety of RDA's fit for bottom feeding (essentially, a dripper with a juice supply, so think of it like a tank in terms of convenience). This allowed me to take my vape game to a different level, not that I was really yearning for anything.

I currently run a dual coil setup on an Odin RDA (netting out at .4ohms) as my everyday driver. This is an awesome vape - much more satisfying than my kayfun was, IMHO (and YMMV). Who knew? I didn't. It also happens to involve ~44 watts of power (I had to just calculate that - it was not my goal to target any particular power).

Your vape journey may take you to other places as mine did. Experiment to gain knowledge and keep the bits you like, I say. If that's not enough reason for you for new gear, cool beans.

The dna-40 is not merely a high powered device; it is a vape innovation because it brings temperature control in sight.

But you sound too happy with your provari and kayfun; I'd book a provari3 and pick up a few more kayfuns; there's quite a few options you can get with kayfuns; different top caps, different glass tanks; if you can get the superlong chimney, you can expand your kayfun lengthwise and alot more juice.

If you are satisfied with what you already have, stick with it.
If what you're really looking for is to "drive a sportier car" and you can and want to spend on it, go ahead.
Just ask yourself what your real reasons are for "stepping up" before you spend your money on something you've already said you don't need.

To be honest - if you're happy with what you have for vaping, why bother changing? The only reason I moved to Mechs and drippers was because I enjoy tinkering. My single coil drippers last quite a while with 18650 batteries, and some respectable clouds can be attained, I find I use more juice with my Kayfun than I do with a dripper for some reason - maybe its an illusion that I tell myself though LOL.

Mouth to lung hitting a tank is completely different than lung hitting an rda. I would forget about getting another mod for use with tanks. You've got that covered. And 40 or 50 watts won't cover a dual coil rda's potential. 100 regulated watts or an unregulated mech with a dual coil rda would be a good next step. I'd do a mech for simple and reliable backup. Plus you can get one for kinda cheap. If you like it then you can start eyeballing big power boxes for really dialing things in on the rda.

12w was my sweet spot for a stock kayfun 3.1, series double barrel 7mm ribbon 2x5wrap @ 1.6ohm, solid vape. Over 13 and I'd get dry hits. My rose v2 I run 20w with a single 7/64" 8x26gauge @ 1ohm. Big Buddha is dual 7/64 7x 28gauge and frankly is bar none by favorite vape. It's unfortunate it's so bulky. You want something different and easy to build that will reward with ginormous plooms without dripping a .7 ohm Buddha will do it lol. Oh get a rotary tool and carve 2 perpindicular canals for juice flow. I wick rayon in everything. Also just get a 100w regulated mod, a lot more versatile than a mech. I use both, my Buddha is on a mech

Go with what you like.

I recently ordered a 100w mod - Do i think i'll use more than say 15 watts 90% of the time ,,,, No.

Dual sub-ohm builds can use high watts and i'll have a play around with those but most the time I'm going to be single build around 1.5 - 1.8 Ω.
Like I am now and around 10 - 15 W.

If you are happy and satisfied, then that is all that matters. once you are not, then move on to the next step. depending on when that next step will be, there will be dozens of new mods that will come out between now and then. No reason to spend money for spending sake.Yes, higher wattage = mucho juico.

Be happy you are satisfied at 13.5w, I am not happy unless its up to 65-75watts. That is where I get a satisfying vape...

I have 4 ProVaris, and usually run them between 13-15 watts. I hated stepping down to 11 watts when out and about, and I was always concerned about taking the ProVaris out.

When the iStick came out, I immediately grabbed one. Then got 2 more, lol. Great little mod.

Why not get one, and see how you feel about higher wattages? They're running under $35, so it's really no-brainer ;)

I just discovered the Kayfun V4, and it looks awesome. It has a little more air flow. I'm thinking along with a P3 it might be a decent step up with some room for more vapor production while staying true to what I know I like. That's about $500.00 for those two items though, plus a couple extra batteries and extra parts for the Kayfun. Lot of money there. I could get a DNA 40 and an RDA for a lot less. I just want to spend money on vaping gear. That's what this is about. So many choices.

I can definitely relate to how you feel. I have a Provari Mini 2.5 and Kayfun Lite Plus that is still in my weekly rotation. Works great at 12-15watts. But I have a severe case of shinyitis. I've bought a number of mech mods, RDA's, genesis tanks, a Cana mod, and a rDNA30. I have a DNA40 on order and continue to purchase new stuff that catches my eye. I use almost all my stuff and rotate them fairly regularly. My current favorite combo is a Vertex RDA, built to 0.2 ohms, on a mech mod.

Get what you like. As long as you're taking care of your obligations, enjoy your hard earned money. And while you're happy with the Kayfun/Provari combo, you might try something new and find a new enjoyable vape. It may not replace your existing favorite set up, but it really doesn't have to.

Have fun! And keep vaping!

I am craving more input from you guys. The kayfun 4 came out and it would make a disgustingly good combo with the provari P3. It would be nice to have the latest and greatest of my proven combo, but I am wondering if the vape would be much different from a 2.5 and a kayfun lite+. The only significant differences I see are 5 extra watts and a little more air flow in the Kayfun 4. Those two items are $500.00 and I am debating between that or a Vaporshark rDNA40 and a Veritas RDA. Leaning closer toward the DNA set up since that's something new to me I haven't experienced yet. I'd get both set ups, but I don't really want to drop $1,000 on hardware in one day, lol. Best to space that stuff out a little for me. I can't decide! I want them all!
