Cant get VG cut liquid to wick

So i have some 36mg coffee flavor that I got to cut with VG (USP grade). It REALLY thickens it up. I love the smoothness and vapor production when im direct dripping but at work I really need a cart. I've tried stock polyfill as well as PTB. it seems to only cape the equilivant to 2 direct drops then after that it won't wick anything else out of the cart.

What strength should I be diluting to?
The first batch was 50/50. Way too thick. So I tried 70/30 with just a tad of distilled water and the vapor production was horrible.

I also just ordered some 36mg unflavored and some lorann favorings hoping to really try new flavors without investing in a huge bottle of something I may not like. If I can't even cut regular stuff right there is no way I can handle favoring and VG.

What am I doing wrong?

Hey there -

I cut my liquid mostly with this ratio, and have great success. 50% 24mg e-liquid, 15-20% flavoring (flavors depending), 30-35% VG. That makes my usual 12mg liquid. I don't thin my VG at all. My liquid is a fair bit more viscous due to the VG.

It's possible that your cart filler may be a little too dense for your mixture. I have been using stock carts as of late, and have had good luck filling them with just a dopper bottle (no straw mods or the like). I just tap the mouthpiece down on the table to help the liquid soak further down into the filler. I normally top off two or three times a day in a penstyle cart.

You may want to drip a couple of drops directly onto the atty bridge, then place the filled cart on to help get the juice flowing properly.

Best of luck!

I've used 50 / 50 for the longest time, and even used straight VG. I know of others using heavy VG juice, so I can honestly say the juice most likely isn't the problem. I would start checking out the carts and wicking material.
I also use 50/50 mix. Works fine, matter of fact I have less flooding and leakage probs on my 510 with this mix.

There is no doubt that if you change the viscosity of your juice you also change the wicking characteristics of your cart filler. How fast and how often you draw also makes a huge difference, you just have to keep on messing around with cart filling until you find out how to get it to wick just right for your own vaping style and then stick with it and stick with the same viscosity juice or else you will start the whole game of getting the cart material just right all over again.
