LOL, I had just the opposite problem - hence my username... I've been a die-hard smoker since 1970; and, I lost ALL interest in quitting back when they started trying to force people to quit. My response to them jacking the price of generics up over $9.99/carton? I bought a 440 pound case of "strip" tobacco (unprocessed, leaf) back in 1999. Less than a week later, I was going to be going out to dinner with friends and bought a pack of what I'd been smoking 3 packs a day of for years, to avoid embarrassing our host by smoking roll-your-owns at the nice place he was taking us to. After just a couple of drags, I thought I was going to throw up! They tasted like they'd been soaked in floor stripper!!! (I could taste all the chemicals that had been added; but, weren't in the tobacco I was rolling.) When I was able to do so, about 4 years later, I went back to NC and bought 3 more 440 pound cases; so, I'd have a "lifetime supply" of the real tobacco... I wound up dropping from 3 packs a day down to about "a pack and a half" (@30 cigs a day), even with making "filters" out of rolled up strips of paper towel. I chalk that up largely to not wasting tobacco while talking or busy; since, my roll your owns just went out when I wasn't actively smoking them; then, since they didn't have any chemicals in them to build up, I could just relight them. I was perfectly happy with this arrangement; and, even found rolling while watching tv to be somewhat relaxing.
I bought my first e-cig (about 6 weeks ago) for one reason ONLY - so I could get my nicotine fix anywhere I darned well wanted to! I had NO intention of switching! Since I was only going to be using e-cigs where I couldn't smoke, I bought 24mg and 36mg juices, to get my fix before anyone could give me any flack. (Before I found out that they can even be used in hospitals and nursing homes.) That worked pretty well for the first couple of weeks; but, then, my hands "went on the fritz on me" for a few days (happens every once in a while; esp. in cold weather.) Normally, I just would've rolled anyway; but, I'd found juices that were REALLY TASTY (for me, that's 1/2 clove and 1/2 orange/pineapple - a tank killer; but, SOOOO tasty!) I just found myself vaping more and rolling a LOT less; then, not rolling at all. When my hands straightened back out, a few days later, I immediately started rolling again; BUT, found that I could no longer smoke - they tasted like I'd raked up a pile of leaves, my dogs had taken a community crap on the pile, I'd dried it all out, rolled it, and tried to smoke it!!! It was every bit as bad as when I tried to smoke my old mfg'd cigs after switching to real, leaf tobacco!!! Now that I've "been kidnapped" by vaping, I've kept the high mg/mL juice for mixing and for when I'm busy; but, I've bought some 6 and 12's for when I'm just "chain vaping." I can't say when my "last analog" was - the last time I even tried was somewhere about a month ago; and, I only got about 2 drags before I had to put it out, due to it tasting so bad to me... LOL, MY problem is trying to figure out how to get back to not having to buy all this stuff; since, I have about 1,000 pounds of tobacco and a box and a half of papers left, that I don't want to waste!!! I really don't see how I can go back to it at this point...

I, very literally, feel "kidnapped" by my taste-buds; and, I really kind of resent it... I'm on a really limited income; and, I'm looking at new expenses that I really can't afford! I'm going to order some polypro tanks next week; and, I'll probably start DIY'ing my juices; so, that'll help; but, this past month has been a real budget killer! I also worry now about what I'll do if TSHTF; or, if "Big Brother" gets "their fingers in the pie" and starts harassing vapers the way they do smokers...
The bottom line of all of this is that if ***I*** switched, there must be some "formula" in here that might help someone who actually WANTS to switch. I'm guessing that the primary points that might be useful (although everyone's different) are:
1) Unlike smoking, we can get our "fix" anywhere we darned well feel like it.
2) Switching was more of a "matter of convenience" for me, rather than anything I tried to force myself to do; so, there was no (internal or external) "power struggle."
3) I found a juice that was similar enough to what I smoked to be palatable; but, different enough that, when I tried to go back, what I used to smoke tasted (REALLY) bad when I tried to go back to smoking.
4) The nicotine level I started with was higher than what I was getting from my analogs; so, there were no unsatisfied nicotine cravings. (It satisfied the cravings even better than my analogs...) Since I'm not trying to quit, I just let my body determine what nicotine levels I want; and, there's no feeling of deprivation. I have different tanks for when I'm going to want different nicotine level; and, just switch tanks according to whatever I feel like. I've found that I'm using my high nic tanks a lot less; and, I'm not "feeling threatened" by mixing my 6 and 12mg juices in; esp. when I'm going to be "chain vaping."
Hope this helps someone.
