But I still can't seem to post to a thread in the DIY forum... Did I miss a secret handshake or something?

I have read that it can take up to a hour before the server updates and will let you post to other boards.

You'll have to wait an hour or so untill your status has been changed. don't worry you'll be fine.
What are you DIYíng? I could use an expert look at my plans to build a mod.

Account upgrades are done by the server at 25 minutes after each hour. You have about 10 more minutes before the sever runs the cron job and updates your account.

^ he forgot to mention the handshake. You have to spin around twelve times while hopping on one foot while keeping one finger in your right nostril. Then you get a bottle of TFA Cherry and balance it on top of your head and do a backflip. Let me know if it worked out for you.
