Hi. nebiew here. Just got confuse about the new Kbox 120W. It seems that it cannot read the coils on the Zephyrus V2 rba and i made sure everything is in place. Coil not touching each other etc. Also, the Kbox can read the given OCC of the zephy V2.

My question is how to fix this?

Edit: I've tested it on my friend's mod but to him it works just fine.

is your rba deck screwed down tight enough? may be a defective deck with a short center pin. very few reasons it would not be making contact. try cleaning the contacts and reinstalling. maybe the center pin on your mod is sticking try cleaning the center pin and make sure it moves freely

I tried cleaning the contact pin. I've made sure the RBA is in contact with the center pin. The lenght of the deck screw to the mod screw in is not short because on my Fuel RDA is a little shhorter than on the Zephyrus.

I just want the coil to be read by my Kbox 120W. The menu on the screen does show a 9.99Ohm on the RBA which obviously means no atomiser is installed. On the other hand. The OCC works just fine. Showing 0.3 Ohm.

How low of a resistance can that mod read? How low did you build? If you build it lower than what it is rated for, it won't read it.

Trust me, i didnt build too low. My friend build one for me and he forgot what he did. My guess is 26g kantal 6/7 wraps. Dual coil build. This mod can read as low as.. 0.5 for Ni200, Ti and SS, 1.0 for nichrome.

Process of elimination...a multimeter helps to determine conductivity from positive to negative.

You could loosen the coils one at a time and see if a coil end is clipped off.

Dry fire the coil and try tightening the grub screws again.

You have to remove the positive pin to determine if there is a bad insulator.

Or it could be a poor 510 connection...remove atty, clean top 510 and bottom of atty. Pencil eraser works good cleaning contacts if they are not covered with juice.

I don't know if the mod had an auto-adjust 510, it could have sunk not making contact with the atty, if so try pulling the 510 upward on the mod gently with tweezers.

Thanks! but you told me what i have done but failed miserably. I am blaming the mod on this one.
Kangertech Kbox 120W.

you might have a decimal wrong there
but depending on the inner diameter a 6 wrap 26g kantal could come out from .2 to .5 below the 1.0 you are indicating your mod can read
--> dual coil - res of 1 coil/2

kantal would use the nichrome wat setting not the tc setting

Funny. I tried various ohm range from 0.5 to 1.0 and still no reading on the kbox. But the kbox still can read the OCC that is given with the tank. The kbox should have shown the " New coil +(yes)/-(no)" screen but it didn't show it on the RDA nor the OCC. Probably it has a memory setting.

just remembered something from my wifes kbox mini
unscrew tank -->9.99 press fie button it should blink
then attach new tank press fire

Sounds to me like your zephyrus has a floating centerpin and your rba head is a tad short, resulting in your centerpin ending up a tad short and not making contact with the mod centerpin.

If it works on another mod, then that's the reason.

Ultimately the problem is on the mod side; most regulated mods do not have adjustable centerpin; if you mod is spring loaded, it could be that the spring is semi permanently pressed in; you could trying pressing the pin in let it go up and down a few times to work it out.

I was so happy it works! but then i forgot its on the occ. At least the new coil menu somehow works. It didn't work on the RBA thou... Thanks for the info!

TLDR: Tried the OCC on without taking off the tank. Works. On the RBA. Nope. I cant say the are a difference in the contact pin lenght cuz when i measure it. Its really about the same size.
