Not sure if this is the place for it.. I have a strange issue going on..

I'm going to describe my equipment, but I am starting to think it is irrelevant to the issue, and it seems to fit more in the "general smoking" category..
Ego Twist 650, Vivi Nova 2, 2.4ohm head.. ANY juice..

I had a menthol tobacco flavored juice that I started with, and before I finished my 10m bottle I couldn't taste the menthol anymore.. I tried tasting various minty flavors, most of which were straight mint, no "tobacco" flavor.. and just couldn't taste it.. Tried various resistance heads to no avail...
Then I came across a cinnamon "fireball" flavor and was instantly hooked. I vaped it more for the taste than the nicotine!! The other night it got the same loss of flavor, almost half flavorless half burnt taste..
I changed out two different heads and can't get the flavor back. I assumed something was wrong with my vivi, but when i went in the general idea was that they tasted it just fine and my tounge must have gotten "used to" the flavor and thats normal.. and I should switch it up. I got another bottle of a very minty one and before i got home I can't taste it already!!

I have searched and can't seem to find anyone else experiencing this.. Am I going nuts? Are my tastebuds getting toasted? Is my rig broken? HELLLP!!
The strange thing is that until today I went three weeks with no real cigs.. after many years of almost two packs a day!! I just can't take it until i get this sorted! I was doing so well and now the taste is terrible and it hurts my throat so I'm back to the dreaded stinkies.. Since I stopped food tastes better and I can smell EVERYTHING!! So I can't imagine why I would not taste the juice unless there is a problem... But after a total of 5 new heads and a few thorough cleanings I can't imagine what else would be wrong with it...

I generally drink 4-7 bottles a day, and rarely drink soda other than my one energy drink in the morning..

As for the juices.. I have been tempted to get some online.. I keep hearing they are better.. I am just hesitant to buy something without knowing. So many flavors I thought sounded great didnt work so well for me once I tasted them...

Taking a stab here, but when that happened with me "Viva Nova 2.4ohm head" I switched to the 1.8 and could taste the flavor again. I haven't gone past 4.2 because I get a burnt tasted.

Also could be because of the wick. Have you re-wicked or just used a new head?

P/S: When you first vape in the morning, do you have flavor? Then it decreases as the day goes on? If yes, then you need to drink more water.

No.. It tastes a little more, but nothing like it did.
I tried all the heads included with the Nova.. 1.8, 2.4, and 2.8.. the 2.4s seemed to last the longest for me. I never usually even go above 4V..
No rewick.. just new heads.. which have seemed to make it worse. I also cannot seem to find the ne long wick ones. I would like to try that to see if its better, Everyone only seems to have the shorts in replacement heads...

I go through this all the time and have posted on here about it. The first time this happened it was from switching to vaping, the second time it was horrible I almost went back to smoking full time again but it not enough water, the last few times it has been equipment such as a carto gumming up or using my atomizer past it's life expectancy. So now the first thing I do is chug water and the second is change flavors and if it still happens I change cartos, but now I'm stuck on my phoenix so I can just change wicks or increase voltage:D

I went through this also a bit back, just after I started vaping. Tried more water, tried stronger flavors, just about gave up till I read a thread suggesting a flavor called jokesmoke because it was so mild. Didn't have any handy but I did have some almond amaretto from Flavor Crafters that seemed to have almost no flavor when I first tried it. After using it a bit my sense of taste kicked back in BIG time and I could taste things I havn't tasted in a decade or so. So my advice is drink lots of water (like others have said) and try a very mild flavor for a day or three.
Good luck

i had this happen to me also after 3 days of vaping. there are many thing that make taste go and they are all posted 1 not enuff water and you are dehydrated 2 menthol does dampen your taste buds. 3 to low of a voltage to push what you have. i had all 3 problem and quit vaping my menthol as much and started to drink 24 oz of water every hour and i don't have any vv yet one on the way and have one carto i can't use on my mods do to the lower volts. i was chain vaping the first week so i think that is what was my problem with most of my taste loss but the others did add to it.

Welcome to Sure Vapes LLC ! for long wicks

1) It could be your mouth

2) This is an effect of the vivi. You can search for my posts on this in the DIY section--I have the same problem and set-up. (Even have a modder working on it). The Vivi can mute the crap out of your juice. As in my raspberry has no flavor at all from 10% to 20 to 30% flavor. So if its not your body it is certainly the vivi then. It subdues some juice tastes and can mute others and this can happen on new heads until they break in... or still be muted... or if you wash them like I did today... This is the only thing that stops the Vivi from being the best.

Are you still feeling the menthol or cinnamon sensation but none of the flavor? Here is a trick that perfumer makers and wine tasters have used for centuries: open a can of coffee and inhale strongly for a few mins. You may have to do this a few times to reset your sense of smell from aroma fatigue. It's your nose that tastes your juices not your tongue. Also try start your vaping at a lower voltage and incrementally go up until you taste your juice. cheers.

I haven't heard this before but next time it happens I'm going to try this.

Just few questions, i know you said thorough cleaning, how thorough your cleanings were and how? do you use a drip tip and have you cleaned it? what exactly do you do before these loss of taste vapings? do you drink anything while vaping?

It is always.. Not just random times.. It has been ongoing for a good week now. Driving me nuts!! I never go above 4V, usually am slightly lower. The other thing is that I could taste them just fine before this issue started.. Since then I have been drinking more water, switching between four flavors, but still have the problem.. The strangest part is that I can smell/taste food a lot better lately! But any flavor vape tastes the same to me.. I have even been smoking again bc I just cant stand the flavor I DO taste from the vape! When I have other people try mine they taste it fine!

I am trying to stick with it and make it better.. I appreciate the input from everyone! I dont know why when I searched I could not find info on this.. It is looking more and more common.
