I used to do that when I first started. When I got some in the mail, I would leave the caps and tips off over night to "air out", then the next morning I would replace them and stick them in my vape drawer. I've since stopped doing that cause I really saw no difference in it. Now I just "burp" new bottles every now and then. Take cap off squeeze old air out, let new air in then put back in drawer. Maybe once a day for a week, then let them sit and age.

Some people say to do that with juices that are made with flavors mixed with alcohol (or PGA) to let the alcohol evaporate off cause it tastes funny.

But whatever you want to do.

Depends on the liquid - I had a few where I thought that was necessary - the ones that were especially "perfumey" or "chemically" or "alcohol-ey". Usually vanilla's or tobacco's. Mostly, steeping was accomplished just sitting.

Now that I DIY almost all my juice, I make a bottle of my main flavor about 100 mls before I'm going to need it, and I'm always using properly "aged" liquid.

I read a comment at a vape store where guy leaves cap off for steeping. Do you all leave the cap off?

Why don't you Pour 1/2 of your e-Liquid to Steep into an Empty Bottle? Then Steep that Bottle with the Cap Off. And the Original Bottle with the Cap On.

I hear So Many people say to Do this if it is an Full Moon. And do that if you were Born in a Month that Starts with a Vowel.

I say do a Little Test and see which one You think Works the Best.

Good question. Since the experiment is trying to determine whether oxygen makes a difference, we should give one sample all the oxygen it wants and the other as little as possible, no?

I have No Clue.

Because to be Honest with you, and I'm not Afraid to say it, I Don't Understand what "Steeping" Does or How it Does it.

I'm not Convinced that Oxygen even Plays a Determinant Role in whether an e-Liquid Taste Better (or Worse) when "Steeped".

These are all useful replies, thanks. As a matter of fact I ordered some empty bottles the other day so I could rotate my stock. I'm even about to jump into the DIY thread. I've used whole vanilla beans in my cooking for decades, I might be able to do something with vanilla. I buy top shelf vanilla from Mexico and I'll stand at the kitchen cabinet sniffing it. If I could only find the vanilla e-liquid to taste that way....
