Can I pour some Flue Cured into a 3ml bottle and then just add 1 or 2 (or 3 or 4) drops of Amaretto to it and get a decent taste or will it over power it?---IOW, Are the flavorings only to be used when you mix your own flavors from scratch?
Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you've been doing some reading already.
1-4 drops shouldn't overpower the tobacco flavor. There are ~20 drops in a milliliter and I find 5-10% flavoring is a good way to "touch up" a flavored liquid. Capellas can be a bit weaker than Loranns in my experience so maybe more is needed, but it's good to experiment. Gotta shake thoroughly, of course, and I like to let my DIY experiments "sit" for a day or two before testing, too.
I'll probably buy more from Capellas given the good reviews people have had, but here are my impressions from what I've tried:
French Toast: Fantastic. I love to mix this with Loranns English Toffee, Bavarian Vanilla Cream, and/or Butter and make a Baked French Toast flavor, very rich and well-rounded.
Chocolate Fudge Brownie: Flat, tootsie-roll flavor. Weak, and really needs other flavors to make it worthwhile, I think.
Double Chocolate: Richer than the Chocolate Fudge Brownie, but still weak. I have tried this in a smoothie, and it had a bitter undertaste even in small concentrations. The bitterness also shows up in liquids if you use too much. I'm trying to find a mix that will accommodate this.
I haven't tried the Root Beer Float I also have, but it smells awfully strong. Still, I want to try the Toasted Almond, Vanilla Custard, and Cool Mint. Anyone tried
Peanut Butter or
Caramel?
Also, the plastic bottles somehow let out their aroma much more than the Loranns glass bottles, and make my entire DIY toolbox smell of Capella flavors!
