Thanks to this thread, I ordered a 6-pack of these a week or so ago. I'm pretty impressed with these little things that pack a big punch.

They are almost too strong for my liking. I often mix 3ml bottles of e-liquid, and can't really take more than about 3 drops total in that, which makes it hard to proportion flavors. I suppose that I'll end up making mixtures with VG, which I can then add to my nic juice to taste.

I have found food coloring in one or two. I've always thought that food colorings were stupid and unnecessary contaminants, period. I'll have to look more carefully at future orders.

I bought these:

1st Flavor: Cappuccino
2nd Flavor: Double Chocolate
3rd Flavor: Toasted Almond
4th Flavor: Root Beer
5th Flavor: Sweet Strawberry
6th Flavor: Vanilla Custard

So far, I haven't gotten to the Root Beer yet. Though it does sound good to me, I don't expect that I'll mix it with anything else, and I've been having fun mixing.

The Sweet Strawberry is quite nice, and mixes well with other fruits. The Vanilla Custard seems especially strong, and makes me a bit ill. Oh well. One drop is good in a large cup of coffee, though. :)

The cappuccino, chocolate and toasted almond are great in a 3-2-1 ratio, respectively. Pretty good in any combination, really.

I'll probably order more. My wife likes to add the cappuccino to her cups of coffee, too.

more that they are natural flavorings then food coloring . None have color added except for caramel having caramel color that i know of .

That's good to know. :) I've checked mine again, and the double chocolate has caramel color listed on it. I will use it anyway, because it's good!

Thanks for the info. Its great to hear varying opinions. As far as the strength I am glad you posted this so I will start really low percentages when mine gets here. Do you vape high PG lower VG? If so you will often need less flavoring--at least thats what I have found.

I have not actually tried diy juice (except for menthol crystals) as of yet because i do not have all of the supplies i need just yet. I have tried mixing pre-made juices that I felt needed something…I have to get a little @ a time each month & keep building up until I have everything. I am getting close though & hopefully I can get Capella Flavors this month & next, a few measuring devices and an atty to taste them & then I will be ready! YAY!

However, in the meantime, I read everything I can about DIY & I also save recipes I think I will like, so I have a good Starting Point of flavor mixtures & % then I can tweak it to my own tastes.

I thank u for your suggestion, although I do not think by collecting recipes which sound great to me & then tweaking them to my liking will make me “depended on others recipes”. For me, I feel it would be the best way to come up with great juice for myself & not have to throw any down the drain because I got percentages way off(I don’t have the money for that)…. & this way is time efficient for me.

As I get better @ DIY, I know I will actually come up with my own concoctions/recipes based off of what I know I have done in the past & what works for my tastes… I know many people who bake or cook, including myself, find recipes that sound great & then tweak them to their families liking. I do not feel this is any different. I know what eggs, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, salt, cream cheese, flour, etc…all taste like individually. However, unless I had a basic knowledge or an idea of how much of each of those items to put together(1/4 tsp of this, 5 TBSP of that…1 egg or 5 eggs….) to bake a cake or other desert it could be disastrous! Lol

Seeing %'s of each flavor, I think will save me a lot of time and no horrible juice thrown out. I may change my mind after I start doing this full time. dunno. lol For now, I love reading everyone's ideas & the idea of adjusting to what works for me.

If you taste each flavor separately, which you should be doing anyway, then you will know which ones you want stronger and which should be weaker in a mix. It's easier to make a mix just for your tastes this way and will teach you the correct way to make your own creations. Using someone else's recipe won't necessarily match your tastes so that's why I do it that way. It's good practice for new DIYers and won't get you dependent on other's recipes.

Mix the Root Beer with some Vanilla for an old fashion Root Beer Float.

Chopper, I loooove the smell of this, but am struggling with getting a good flavor for vaping. Have you found a 'sweet spot' percentage wise?

Ive not tried a Root Beer float yet,but its one I'm going to try and master as I love Root Beer floats.I believe it could be an all day vape.Sorry I can't help you with the %.I would probably start off with the vanilla first as your base flavor then add root beer a little at a time.Writing down how much of each until you get that good taste of a RBF.When I make my next order that's what I will be making. Now I'm going to have to go to the grocery store. So I can get some vanilla ice cream and some A&W Root Beer after talking about this flavor LOL.

That was my thought when I bought it (looooove me a rootbeer float!) but even though the website calls it rootbeer, the bottle says rootbeer float! I'm thinkin there's already some vanilla in there mehbe. Still struggling with % and steeping trying to get a decent flavor out of this one :(

Double choco doesnt have caramel color according to their site .It would say it in the ingredients

Double Chocolate - flavored tea e liquid water flavors e juice coffee flavors e cigarette flavoring Diet & Fitness Baking & Desserts

That's odd. My Double Chocolate is quite dark, it's in a white bottle with a different label design than shown there, and bottle lists these as the Non-flavor ingredients:

Propylene Glycol (used as a carrier to dissolve flavor ingredients), Water, Caramel Color, Alcohol.

Most of the other flavors I have list only PG. It doesn't seem to bother me or my atomizers, though, so I'm not too concerned with it.

Thanks for the info. Its great to hear varying opinions. As far as the strength I am glad you posted this so I will start really low percentages when mine gets here. Do you vape high PG lower VG? If so you will often need less flavoring--at least thats what I have found.

I mostly use straight VG thinned a bit with DW, but sometimes I add MadVapes cotton candy nic juice (which is an undisclosed PG/VG mix) as a sweetener. So far, I've found that 1 drop per ml, or slightly higher, is good for my tastes.

Stronger how? Like, does it give you a head buzz, or is it a harsher hit? Nicotine percentages are just what they are, regardless of what you use to cut it down. The more PG you use, the harsher the hit will be compared to VG. VG will give you nothing. I think you're just thinking that the nic is stronger because you're getting more of a throat hit, when it's just the PG doing it's thing.

The perception of throat hit is higher with higher PG for most people. Its a commonly held principle that VG mutes flavors so you will need more flavor percentages if you are a high VG vaper. Thats why the recipes posted are to be taken with the knowledge each person will need to tweak it to their personal tastebuds and PG/VG ratios.

I am sure you will figure it all out. I need low percentages myself lower than I've seen others recommend- but this taste thing is like fingerprints- we are not all alike in that respect.

So after trying many flavors from TFA and being not happy I just ordered some Capellas. I picked up the sample pack and this is what I got.

1st Flavor: Cinnamon Danish Swirl
2nd Flavor: Double Chocolate
3rd Flavor: Vanilla Custard
4th Flavor: Marshmallow
5th Flavor: Chocolate Fudge Brownie
6th Flavor: Apple Pie

Cant wait to try these out. TFA was very fake, chemical and perfumey tasting. I havent found one flavor that I like yet from them. So Im hoping Capellas tweaks my taste buds more than TFA did.
