Im more the opposite. I always test with cisco 306 attys just like you . Testing with cartos is insane. However once i know i like it i put it in a boge carto where i get the best flavor . Imo attys have great flavor too but way to inconsistant . Take a few pulls in a row and the atty heats up and flavor goes away . One hit too much and you get burning.One drop too much and again no flavor. Attys also reduce the creamyness of certain juices for me .If your using different flavors in a atty it can throw you off sometimes as well.After a while they also get gunky and give off tastes. A boge carto give me nice flavor every hit and it consistant over and over for days . I agree that some tanks dont wick much flavor but i havent had issues with my lavatank and a boge in it. Out of everything iv tried from HH357 attys to hybrids to fluxos etc i find the best flavor in boges expecially with bakery type juices with higher vg ratios.I dont like all cartos though. Any plastic cartos i wont touch with a ten foot pole like fluxos/stardusts/clearos etc. Just my opinions in my experiences with cartos and attys

Absolutely agree, atty's are inconsistent, finicky, expensive and a PITA. I'm a carto man until some atty comes out that functions with the reliability and consistency of a carto and at a reasonable price.

I thought these long names would work as a stand alone. Like Chocolate Glazed Doughnut , Milk Chocolate Toffee..etc ? Hate to waste these drops on trial and error :(

Tell me an example where I can use Chocolate Glazed Doughnut ? Like adding caramel or cocunut ? I meant by stand alone , alone + EM or sweetner.

I think of them as bases to start from . Like say milkchocotoffee. To make a juice of that specifically i would maybe use a vanilla a chocolate and toffee flavorings with it and maybe other flavorings to tweak certain things your looking for. . Mix small batches and do some tests to see how you like them both ways.

That would be nice. I use nothing but the best attys (HH357,ciscos,i06,COV hybrids,DC,rebuildables)and none are there yet.If your not a chain vapor attys work ok but imo attys are a chain vapors worst nightmare.

Here is what I've discovered with my flavors - YMMV:

If I use a carto, I don't get the full impact, and the flavor can taste bland to me. If I drip, I get full, wonderful flavor. I just simply had to make up my mind what I wanted - full flavor and some inconvenience or blander flavor and convenience. When I test a sample, I always drip first to really know how it tastes. Tanks have not worked out for me flavorwise, but I've tried only 3 different ones and gave up on them.

Anyone else have the same experience?

p.s. - Also, I try to always keep the bottle caps on so the flavoring doesn't disappear. It works a little better for me.

I also drip to test samples ....I do have a few tanks I like a lot....but I use them at home .. .....on the go I take my reos...would be interested in the atty tank too...:)....

mixed some new flavors....(new to me)..lol...gingerbread, and choc brownie are excellent stand alones.....when I get bored I can add something to them...but they are great alone...:)

I have several 808 Elite clearomizers and several iTurbo clearonizers. Any flavor mix I put in the Elites maintaines it's original color from start to finish on an Echo 1300. Any flavor mix I put in the iTurbo turns dark as blackstrap molasses within 30 minutes on an Echo 1300. Any idea why this would happen?

I'm starting to lose confidence in Capella's. I originally ordered 4oz of LMP back on March 6th. They sent me 13ml by mistake. After I emailed them I heard back that they'd send me the correct item. Sounds great but that was a week ago and it hasn't showed up. I love their product but I'm less than impressed with their service at this time.

Forgot to mention one other thing. For those of you who have not tasted the Water Flavets from Capella's like the Blueberry Pomegranate, Orange Mango, etc., they are the same concentrated flavorings. The only difference is that they are sweetened with stevia.

I told Tom no hurry on the Cake Batter that someone on ECF had already come up with one. IIRC, it was 5 drops (62.5%) Cap's Vanilla Custard and 3 drops Cap's Caramel (37.5%); with Breaktru's calc @ 15% would be 9.4%/5.6%. They got a chuckle out of that.

Ok I hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question but where did you get the 62.5% and the 37.5%

It's the % of flavoring only 62.5% of one and 37.5% of the other. After mixed together the flavoring is added at 15% of your juice

ok just didn't know how the 8 drops and 5 drops came in to the equation or why that specific amount more of one than the other but I guess all about personal taste and you could go 70% of one and 30% of the other

I like Choc Glazed Donut and Choc Toff by themselves. Yummm!

If I use Choc Toff in a recipe, it's usually Scubatdan's Peanut Butter Cups 2 recipe from his recipes in his calculator drop-down menu:

Peanut Butter Cups 2
Cap's Double Chocolate 40%
Cap's Peanut Butter 40%
Cap's Pralines & Cream 10%
Cap's Milk Chocolate Toffee 10%
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Here are a couple of other recipes that use the Choc Toffee:
Chocolate Toffee Espresso (House Mouse)
0.4ml espresso
0.2 ml milk chocolate toffee
4 drops hazelnut
2 drops butter
add enough pg/vg to come up to 6ml total
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`

Toffee Cappaccino (Hoosier)
Using Dan's calculator for the amounts the percentages are:
Flavor 27% (I said it was strong)
Cappella Cappaccino 86.4%
Cappella Milk Chocolate Toffee 13.6%
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Sparky - here's how I convert drops into %s.
If a recipe calls for drops - like if a person does a 3ml test batch .........
Go into Scubabatdan's calculator. At the far right, at the top, type in your drops, the calculator will automatically figure the percentages.
Now if you have a recipe that looks like this:
1 ml of flavor A
2 drops of flavor B
6 drops of Flavor C
then you will have to change flavor A into drops, which in this case would be close to 42-44 drops if it's Capella's.
Once they are all in the same league (mls or drops but not both), then you come up with accurate percentages.
Now if you don't use Dan's calculator but use Breaktru's and can't figure it out, you can plug it into Dan's calc. first, and then take those figures over to Breaktru's calc. and plug those percentage figures into the percentages under Tools/Percentages. It will convert those %s to what percentages you could use on Breaktru's calc.
ok sounds complicated as hell lol I have just been using the breakthru calc and staying with simple low % first then add a few drops after testing of whatever it's missing like my buttered popcorn I just went with 10% popcorn and 2.5% butter then added a few more drops and counted how many and saved that I may be wrong in doing that but it worked out well and tastes good to me.
But I would like to know more if I can figure out the more complex recipes lol maybe I could then do something with this M-type flavor I have here
What you are doing is fine and how most of us get it done. The % concept will come with time and experience.
Az is absolutely correct, sparky - what you are doing is absolutely fine!:) Especially when you have fun while you're doing it and produce a great recipe.
I dint understand Dan's calculator at all when I first started out. I had to sit down for a couple of hours and look it all over.
The reason I post two versions of a recipe sometimes is b/c I know that some ppl from the old school use Dan's calc, and then the newer DIYers prefer Breaktru's calc. I use and depend on them both, and I couldn't do without either one of them.
