Hi guys, question, probably stupid again, lol, but when we have a car charger plugged in, is it only charging when we are driving and the car is on??? When we stop someone and turn the car off, does it stop charging and does this hurt the battery life?

Hi Lucky,

Yes It Will Charge On Most Stock / Standard Passenger Vehicles When The Vehicle Ignition Switch Is In The: On / Acc / Driving or Running Positions.

Yes Power is Sent to the Lighter Receptacle The Ignition Key Is In The On, Acc or On Position on all Standard Passenger Vehicles.

No It will Not Charge If The Vehicle's Ignition is in the Off Position & Won't Hurt Anything on Most All Standard Passenger Vehicles.

A Small percentage of Certain RV's or Some Others besides mods may have a Cig Lighter Receptacle / Acc Power Available at all times.

Hope That Helps.

Need to check your vehicle to know for sure. Mine has 1 cigarette outlet that is powered 100% of the time, regardless of whether the car is on or not. My DH's has 2. One that is powered 100% of the time and 1 that is only powered if the vehicle is on.

Doesn't seem to negatively effect cellphone batts with the off and on. The PCC for some of the e-cig batts have the same issue with batts going in and out of charge and I don't think anyone has reported a prob with it.

Okay so that is what I thought. If I turn the car off it will not charge Correct.

So will the on and off and on and off effect the charging of my battery in a bad way???

No It Should Not, But If Were Doing A Lot of Stopping & Starting and Want to Charge More Then 1 batt (or something special), U can install a charge timer to the ignition, has to be hard wired.

Hope that helps unless your doing something else or not mentioning something.

Keep Vapin!
