Caravela Mod HCigar - Vape Mail

I have two minor disappointments with my ehpro vela.

1. Top cap and bottom button brass plating (thought it was solid brass when purchased) is starting to be rubbed off.
2. When tightening the locking ring (reverse threaded) I have a habit of loosening the bottom button. I have to routinely tigten up the fire button because of this.

All in all, i am pretty happy. happy enoug to buy the magnets from fat daddy vapes to upgrade this badboy

My 23mm vela from Focalecig is a stunning beauty; me thinks ehpro.
The switch appears to be 24k gold leaf; very beautiful gold color not brass color.

What is the base metal of ehpro switch? SS or brass?

Anyone know ring magnet sources for any vela or origin? Fat Daddy would be ok but I need several magnets and would go broke.

Deal extreme solved my nemi magnet needs.

The pin mod is easy. Mine fires w/o pin mod but some toppers don't flush fit. I prefer solid vela style pin because it has lower voltage drop than some telescopic pins.

Hcigar version uses m5 pins, get some m5 brass screws on ebay and just cut them to size.

My switch was gold plated steel. I am not certain if it is stainless, though I hope so. I'm not going to leave it submerged in water to find out.

The pins look like silver plated copper.

All of my gold plating is gone except for within the 510 threads in the topcap. it still looks beatiful in copper and polished rather than copper and gold.

My magnets came from fat daddy vapes and i love it. the magnets removed the issue with the button loosening up when using the lock ring and the wobble when placed standing up. Highly recommended upgrade.

get a magnet if it sticks its probably steel, if it doesn't 95% chance its ss or aluminum. Some SS is magnetic.

I have a Carvela clone to. Thinking about selling mine. I like it, I just don't love it. I prefer a heavier mod.

All I can say is my ehPro copper caravela clone is the heaviest mod I own, all 18650, between jemmit assets, poldiac and 69 by a HUGE margin. feels like a lead pipe.

I'm not sure I "get it" with these Caravela's...

I mean, its 'pretty', but there are better looking simplistic designed mods out there...

And this includes the authentic Caravela.

Can someone clue me in to why these are seen as one of (if not THE) highest-end mods available? Is there some sort of function I'm missing, or what? lol

Taste is taste its an individual thing. Caravela is beautifully simple imo if you get what I mean, has no bells or whistles everything is simple on it but it works flawlessly . The switch is amazing yet a really simple design, sometimes things get over engineered and sound good on paper but just don't work very good. This thing is like an old Russian diesel engine, simple but just keeps on working and nothing that can really break on it.

Does it have all the features we need ?? no far from it, its very primitive compared to something like a nemesis or a origin mod. It has an old style look (if pirates vaped they would vape a caravela ) and functionality to match.

Hope this make sense.

The caravela is a heavy weight for a 22mm mod, its all solid and has pretty thick tube walls.

I can kind of understand that, I suppose. These same reasons are why I'm an avid GP fan.

Underneath the gold plated button is mirror polished silver colored metal?
Polished silver colored metal switch button works for me.

I don't like tube extension seams on nemi etc.; caravela is one mod that has no batt tube seam.
My vela clone complaint is shallow engravings; unlike GP.
I would prefer different logo on clone.
I sanded off logo on one china nemi and like it better.

My 23mm 18350 ehpro china vela feels like a lead weight compared to china origin and nemi.
With batts installed, my 18350 chivela feels similar in weight to 18500 chinemi.

Yeah, it is polished stainless steel. I took a picture of it with the brass kraken on the top on the first day I got it. Here it is. I will update with a new (better) picture that you hopefully be able to see how the originally gold plated parts are now polished Stainless Steel.
