i'm using an ejuice that lists tobacco essential oils and absolute. if this is true then how do i know that i'm not vaping tobacco carcinogens?

Probably, you are. The likelihood is that they are at very low levels in the vapor compared to those present in smoke - but unless it is tested, nobody knows.
