While I do little cardio , I have noticed a difference in my weight training , I could never get passed 10 pull ups when I was smoking while 1 month off them I'm finding it almost easy (almost) . I think it has more to do with co2 levels in blood more then anything . As for 100% , I don't think you could get anything back to 100% let alone your lungs but I'm sure in a few years you can get most of it back and that's what counts

There should be a noticeable improvement in your breathing, endurance, and performance. If you don't notice much difference, it might be worth a trip to your doctor. I have been quite active with a 4 day a week fitness regime I closely followed for a couple years before quitting smoking. After I cut back smoking to only 1 or 2 a cigs a day my doctor commented I must be feeling a difference in my workout by now. I told him honestly that I hadn't. After running some tests, we discovered I have a heart problem. I've seen several specialists, and am consistently reassured vaping has nothing to do with it. (same problems at 0mg nicotine as 32mg nicotine) I'm just glad I have a doctor that listens to me instead of blaming everything on smoking, as my previous complaints to other doctors were dismissed because "that's what happens when you smoke".

1 year after switching to vaping I do 100K cycling rides every other week with no chest issues

I'm also into cycling and notice a large improvement especially when sprinting or climbing. I wear a heart rate monitor when cycling and am down 10+ beats per minute and my recovery is much faster post sprint or climb. My resting heart rate is also down. These are measurable improvements that go along with my general feeling of performance improvement.

Another aside…my wife says I quit snoring. Now if we can get our dog to stop snoring we’ll all get a good night’s sleep.

i workout 5 days a week...but i worked out 5 days a week when i smoked too...never noticed a difference in breathing, so i'm waiting to see if it was something i became used to over time and now that i have quit, something will come back that i notice

tonight i must say i ran for the first time outside, i usually only do elipticals, treadmills, and all that after weight training in the gym, it wasn't very difficult to run a decent distance even though i haven't ran in awhile, but it wasn't a huge leap and bound over what i expected.....bleacher sprints put a whooping on me after running the track
