Cart Material

I got done reading the thread about what is in the cart that holds the juice in.. But nobody has found out exactly what it its?? Is it polyester? Is is silicone? is it acrylic?? and what does acrylic mean exactly.. just wondering.. i bought a bunch of blanks from steve, but i was thinking i could put a material in there that would wick the same...

I'm pretty sure but not certain that it's polyester wool. I've used aquarium polyester wool to replace it and it seems to work the same way. You can simply wash the cart material out in warm water, and this gives it an extra lease of live but I think it does eventually loose it's effectiveness.

Pete, Can you give a link to a site or picture so i can see what it is exactly that you bought and are using with success?? That would be really helpful. Im sure for me and i bet others would like to know exactly what you used and are getting the same success as usual.

I just had lots around the house being an aquarist but what you are looking for is this

Filter wool aquariums/fishtanks 400g - eBay (item 120342771852 end time Dec-30-08 14:29:28 PST)

Now I can't be sure it's the exactly the same stuff without touching it, but it's likely to be. If you have any pet stores locally you could try checking them out.

DO NOT buy a thing called a POLY-FILTER, this is an activated filter and will promptly adsorb all the nic and flavouring. It's also expensive so the difference will be obvious.

ok, so dont buy the stuff that comes in a square sheet then? Buy what looks like really dense polyfill?

Not always, some does come in a square sheet, what you have to look out for is the name "POLY-FILTER" it's a trade name Poly-Bio-Marine

Unfortunately some companies eg: JEWEL sell the proper stuff under the name " Poly Filter" without the hyphen. The difference is the price, the stuff you want will be very cheap, couple of dollars, the stuff you want to avoid is much more expensive, tens of dollars.
