I just got my mini pcc yesterday. Seems to work fine. I noticed that I could put extra carts in it instead of a fully assembled bloog and keep a the spare battery in the charge slot, but to do so I would have to take the condoms off the carts. If I do this will the carts dry out and become useless? Seems like they would but I figured you folks would know. Thanks

True indeed. I have the same mini-pcc and carry two carts and charging battery in it. My active battery and carto hang on a lanyard around my neck (though often under my shirt so as to not look so dorky. I wasn't happy carrying a unit in my pocket. It got full of lint, scratched, could fall out, etc. The lanyard is an awesome way to go, see the "3 things about winning and losing thread" for a how-to if interested.

No problems with cartos outside of condoms, even when left in a hot car for a while, even though that is not recommended. I'm scared a crackhead is going to see my PCC through the window and break in to steal it thinking it's an iphone or something!

This is the only part that requires thinking or improv. 2 spacers, one for 65's and one for 78's would be the easiest. A spring would be cooler, and make it work just fine, but you'd want to glue it in place. A flip up/down spacer would probably coolest, but would require the most thought.

It's a grand total of about 2 square millimeters standing between this case and working with 65's and 78's.

It's just wasted space now, not quite enough for a carto unfortunately.
edit, in case it isn't clear, in the pics above, the battery is in the top storage slot, and facing the wrong way it would for charging. That storage slot has room for either a complete assembled ecig, or 2 cartos. I usually keep the battery in the lower charging slot, and 2 cartos in that top storage slot.

So how would you recommend removing that bit to make room for my 78mm? A Dremel? Nail clippers?
If I thought the new-new-mini-vcc-maxx-fuel-pack would be available within a month, I'd wait it out. I already have a 2 mo. old pcc from riv4l, but it won't charge the Bloog. Kinda hate shelling out another $30+ for something that will be obsolete soon. But if it is still a few months away, I may try this.

The engineer's first idea for an adjustable was about that simple; he had a removable tab and slots to put it in for each length. The problem was, if you lose that little tab, you can't charge ANYTHING. Seemed like a serious design flaw to me, so I rejected it.

Another solution proposed was to replace the threadless connector with a regular swivel connector. It had to be made thicker however to make it fit, and besides, I think the threadless connector is one of the real improvements in the Mini-PCC. So, I rejected that, too.

Personally, I wanted a sliding tab or a spring system, but they proposed a very simple and elegant solution which takes up less space and uses fewer potentially breakable small parts. But I'm keeping mum on that for now.

BTW, one interesting idea he showed me is a mini-PCC designed to use 4 regular AA batts. It's twice as thick, and heavy as a brick, but the convenience of using standard AA batts is appealing. What do you guys think?

I vote for this name.

Thick, heavy, space wasting round shape, non/less-rechargeable
boo from me
But in a pinch I could probably charge my bloog from a AA and a couple paperclips!

Agreed. The current cell-phone battery is great, because you can replace it at Radio Shack if you needed to (not that I have). That was a huge step in the right direction.

I just wish it was made out of better materials. Sure, it's tough, but it's looking ratty after only a month or so.

That would be a no. Plus, then you really couldn't call it a mini-PCC, based on your logic for naming the current mini-PCC that.

Probably more useful to use 2 phone bats to double current capacity.
For AA bats, if they could be interchangeable with 14500 bats (and these could be recharged in the PCC) would also be more usefull, but the extra weight and size is a no-no.
