Hi there,

After 2 weeks of using my new Riva 510 which I am really enjoying, the wool inside my carts look like this:

ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting

ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting

Questions:

- is my wool supposed to look like that after 2 weeks of use? does the change in colour mean its dying?

- should the wool not always be white in colour?

- if the wool needs cleaning, whats the best way to do this?

- what material is that wool? so I can replace it (if need be) and reuse the black carts? any recommendations where in the UK I can get some replacement wool? particular shops etc...

Moving on, when I do not use a particular flavour I leave the cart like this:

ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting

is that OK? or am I at risk at drying out the cart? I usually finish the liquid in the cart before setting it a side...

Thanks for your continued help and support

The stuff in side is some sort of polyfill like the stuffing in your pillow. You can buy a giant bag of it at the sewing store. But I prefer the "Marineland RiteSize U" better, it wicks better IMO so more juice gets used and you top off less often. It's easy to use too because you just cut it to size:

But for now, just rinse that old stuffing out in hot water and roll it around in a paper towel until it's dried. Try to roll it so it keeps its cylindrical shape.

thanks for your replies..

regarding the wool, is it true that if the wool is in a similar state to mine, it could decrease the vaping experience in terms of throat hit and flavour?

thanks for the supplier info, regretably they are US Based, so I would be looking at increased delivery times and potential customs charges, do you know any UK stockists of the blue foam or white wool?

On a seperate note

I know what a cartomizer is but whats better in your opinion, a cartomizer or cartridge with seperate atomizer? does a cartomizer soak up more liquid compared to the cartridge with seperate atty? or is it the same? any differences in flavour or throat hits?

thanks

Wow never had my polyfill as bad as your pics. For me I'll stick with atomizer and cartridge rather than cartomizer. It's easier to refill a cartridge. For cartomizer, you have to pop out the bottom cap with paper clip to refill it. Flavor and throat hit is awesome using cartridge and atomizer. And its easy to clean and change the polyfill. Stick with cartridge and atomizer but I would suggest you use the blue foam or fluval for the polyfill replacement.
